Elephants are included, but are only recruitable in certain areas and by certain factions. We are currently using vanilla elephant models, but will eventually revamp them as well.
The economic difficulty is intentional. Try reading some of our strategy guides if you have difficulty (or you could always cheat). |

Its better having units and builings costing a lot of money, because it stops you reaching the situstion where have have 50 000+ in the bank and are gaining 1000's each year and are pretty much unstoppable.

Brings me to a slight bug, that can easily be resolved.
The only elephants I've ever encountered are those in 'lili...' (that city east in sicilia). They don't have a unit card (yet?); but there description seems bugged, as is their name. I suspect a typo in a textfile?

Can Carthage still recruit War Elephants and Armoured Elephants? Because historically, the only elephants available to Carthage were the smaller, bush elephants. These are represented in the game as the regular "Elephant" unit.
So, in the final version, Carthage and Egypt should only have the possibility of training the smaller elephants, whereas the Seleucids should only be able to train the larger elephants. |

I few of my Princeps got trampled by a gang of Carthagian Elephants. Suprisingly, the Princeps did not route. My Hastati finally got up to the action and fired 2 volleys of Pila. That along side my Princeps sword hacking and I killed over 80% of the elephants. They were the small ones with single riders, but it felt good.
In RTR, a group of elephants could win the battle for you. Now, they ain't so hot! |
