well if the guys in EB allow me to....
i think the beta is great! tons of work...but i'll like to work in a minimod whit small changes....

A)add gloss for ALL the textures in game, and perhaps reskin some of them.
B)Raise up the moral for ALL the units so the battles will be a little longer and harder, i don't like the flash battles from rtw.
C)Speed up the units movements just a little bit.Say again just a little bit....
D)Add Skymod for better ilumination effects (whit archer's permission ofcourse)

So, i'm starting to work whit the romans, and then faction by faction...

First Screens...

Hmmm... maybe it's better to wait with a mini-mod 'till The (Godly) Team, back on Mt. Olympus, make a more stable version.

Skymod definitely works. I don't know whether or not the mod will ever include it, but I recommend it.

yap, and the EB team let me work whit the textures i can do a little more for this great mod, i think the models are great and also the texture design, but the texture quality is a little poor, i'm playing the game in 1280x960 whit 4x antialiasing and the textures still looking a little "simpsons" style.
Is a shame that such a beautiful mod full of hard work doesn't care about the graphics as much as other mods

This is hardly a way to get any authorization from Eb - by calling their textures 'simpsons' style or saying they don't care much about graphics.

edit: it's also possible to help the mod itself by skinning for it. EB is still definitely looking for good modellers and skinners.

In general, we encourage you to play and tinker. There would be no need for an "unofficial modding projects" subforum if this were not the case.

However, all modders enjoy constructive criticism, and I find nothing constructive about calling our textures simpsonlike or saying we don't care about graphics.

Though Carajudo's criticism might be regarded as unpolite, his desire to reskin what he himself does not like, is not bad iself, is it?
I for one would like to mod some units as well...

As I said this forum exists because we encourage people to modify the game. All we ask is common courtesy in discussing EB. Telling us what you feel is "wrong" and how we can improve it is good, but there is little that is helpful about saying things like our textures are simpsonlike. I hope you can see the difference.

I can, but Carajudo wanted to do improvements himself. Is there a possibility to do so?

Yes, that is why we opened this "unofficial modding project" subforum.

Well, I personally do prefer some skins and models over others, there is no point denying that, but I know, that the skins and models have been created in innumerable unpaid manhours of work, so the artsists do deserve a certain amount of respect and courtesy, as does the whole EB-team.My honest appreciation !

I too would like to know though, if and when we are to expect a modified pak-extractor, to be able to access EB's models and skins, so that we can mod them ourself ?

You don't need anything modified to extract them, just normal xpak.

That was the first thing I tried out and at least for me, it wasn't working.I copied EB into another directory and the only pak-file it is adding is the patch_1.pak(265MB),which won't be extracted by the v0.25 I used.

I will take a look if there is a newer version, if anyone can confirm, it's working that way, I really would appreciate, if he could give an explanation.

KHELVAN:

Let's get thing a little more clear...

A) i've done some skinning, gloss, scripting, some ui cards, and some sprites,so i know the HUGE work is to create a single skinn, and i can only imagine the hours and hours of hard work you and all the rest of the modders has been on to since the proyect start, i already mentionned this before.Thank you Very very very very much for this mod, is one of the 2 or 3 best mods and you people already know this.

B) you said
Quote:

I'm really sorry if you take it this way but what i say was...

Quote:

My point is (and this is just my personal think) EB is a big huge great and incredible mod, but the graphics aren't (just my personal think again...) the strong point of the mod so i just want to do a little tiny work over your mod mostly for my own pleasure , and in second place to share whit the EB fans.

C)
Quote:
All we ask is common courtesy
well i'm really sorry if i ofend you , i wasn't trying to be disrespectful whit your awesome work , sorry again

Anyway if you want i can do the gloss for your textures and you can add them to the mod, i don't want any credit for that, i'll do it just for my own visual pleasure and if you think it's cool just put it in your mod and end of story

sounds great, your work looks incredible in your other projects, I suggest you work with EB more with this, maybe even join them.

I really also hope you get this mini-mod out to us.

And thanks EB for releasing this amazing mod !

thanks, but the only thing i want is to work the skins for myself, and if the EB team can use those files, then that's it, i'll do anything to improve a little the graphical experience of the game, but i don't want to be in any team or care about any credit for doing nothing,if they allow me i'll do a little gloss and a little reskin for this unborn minimod and that's all.

Let's hope Khelvan got my previous post so he don't feel so bad about my personal taste and help us all to work whit the skins
