Since EB is due to arrive in short time, it might be good to help drum up more anticipation and thought on what we'll be playing as soon as it comes out, besides 'playing EB'.

Whats the unit, not necessarily faction, you are most looking foward to trying out?

The Thorakitai is the big one, offering the greeks up to be something more than a succesor state with their pikes cut halfway through.

As well, the armored heavy skirmisher of Carthage's, who you can see in this screenshot:

What is the specific unit you are most eager to start using?

I just played around with our indian longbows and indian hoplites. Those will be great when you're playing as baktria (like you all needed another reason to want to play as baktria! hah!). Get some elies in there too with maybe some light local cavalry and then play some custom battles against the Mak phalangites and hetairoi. Good times....

Too bad we don't have dense jungles and such.

I'd say the cataphracts of Hayasdan (whatever their name in Armenian is).

I'd like to use those X--- (forgot it's name) Cavalry (Greek). Those with their special overhand animation.

O yeah, and I also adore looking at recurve bows for some obscure reason.

I think I need to see all the units as apparantly there are some really decent ones which never made it into the faction previews.
But so far for the greatest concentration of eye candy units then I like the Seleucids and Bactrians.

There are so many, but I guess I really want to get a crack at filling my armies with these guys

The longbow and a huge two handed sword, totally awesome. I have always loved hybrid archer/swordsman units.

I would like to use the Carthaginian Heavy Infantry. You know, the Roman legion look-a-likes.

An obvious answer might be because you have slices of cheese covering your eyes. A less obvious answer might be that you
suffer from some horrible illness where you forget things for large periods of time. Let's hope it's the former! ;-)

Mori Gaesum.

Thumb, thumb. A forest of spears approaches, accompanied by the heavy steps of Helvetii boots. The armor-clad men march towards, with the red, rising sun behind their backs, light of dawn reflecting on their tall helms. Thumb. Thumb. The rhythmical solo of their boots bursts into an abrubt silence. Thumb-. The phalanx has come to a halt. Shields are brought forward, forming a black wall, black as Death himself. Ornate gold figures decorate it. Spears are brought forward, and almost disappear to the blackness of the shields, but still faintly present, forming a sea of spears in front of the men. THUMB. THUMB. Men are brought forward, boots singing their song, declaring the inevitable fall of their adversaries. THUMB. THUMB.

There was a series of unit previews khelvan did a month or two ago where he showed new units and asked what fans thought they were. This is one that was shown during that time period. It wasn't in a full preview though. It's a rebel unit but it's also recruitable directly by the Baktrians (at least, maybe by others) once you get to India and conquer it (and only in and around India then I think).
