What's the time limit? 350 is wayyyyy too high for the average 20 min game.

It's pretty much consensus that they're well... somewhat over-powered due to hilariously cheap tanks and a spammable mortar-on-a-truck that's faster than a jeep and can shoot on the fly.

I'm fine with jap tanks being cheap - if they had paper thin armor. But they don't. I thought a Puma could wreck a stupid Chi-to with a solid hit from the side armor at 120m, boy was I wrong.

I know they're ridiculously strong in low-point 1v1/2v2 matches. Not sure how they'd fare in 4v4/5v5 with high point income. I can see how the lack of late game heavy tanks can hurt them, though. The Japs probably have nothing that can penetrate the front armor of a Konigstiger or an IS3, and in a 350 pt 4v4/5v5, you'll probably see a couple of those late game.

Yeah, the Izuzu. I'll show you next time we play. For a wee bit more than the standard mortar, you get a guy, a mortar, and a flatbed truck. The guy takes the mortar, sits on the back of the truck, and just does thump thump thump, lobbing rounds with the accuracy of a regular mortar, while the truck drives around at hypersonic speeds...

Unlike a regular mortar, you can't take out the crew with a grenade. You can't flank it. It's got 360 degree coverage (unlike a regular mortar, which has a 50 degree cone coverage that must be undeployed and rotated to cover a different cone).

You can kill it with an armored car, if you're lucky (and you'll probably lose the armored car, because you'd be knee deep in their back line), or you can try nailing speedy gonzales with your own artillery.

Also, the japs have tanks cheaper than most other factions' armored cars. Sure, they suck, but a gun on tracks is a gun on tracks - and you can afford millions of the things.
