Napoleonic Total War III – Lordz Modding Collective

    INFO & UNIT CARDS

A selection of unit/info cards made from ingame screenshots with a bit of tweaking in PS, made around 50 + or so, it was a painful and tedious process lol.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    NTW3 MANAGER SCREEN

NTW3 Manager is the first interface one encounters when you click the NTW3 exe file.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

This piece was initially meant for the main menu but I felt a piece of original art would be more fitting as the centre piece, so we used this image for the NTW Manager Screen instead. The image above was the first draft which is a blend of two images, the final version a blend of three. I felt I had to get the main man Napoleon into the image, worked out quite well.

I wanted to use semi-transparent buttons as seen in the top image, the manager software didn’t allow it so we used whole buttons instead.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The historical button leads to its own screen with each battle having its own graphic when you hover over its respective button.

    Battle of Auerstadt

    Battle of Aspern Essling

    Battle of Marengo

    Battle of Montebello

STANDARD & HISTORICAL MAP PREVIEW SCREEN

A map preview screen for every map in NTW3, went for a more aesthetic approach for the historical previews.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    LAND BATTLE SCREEN

If you’ve played NTW you’ll be aware of this screen, got a bit carried away with my first effort lol. I forgot a map is interposed onto the central paper when in game. I made a final version with a medal placed on the books to the left but I couldn’t find the psd when it came to submitting. Will be added in the final version of the mod.

    LOADSCREENS

Made these loadscreens very early on, I plan to revisit and create some new ones now we have correct uniforms. Just have to make one with the Old Guard in action!

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    PROMO

The first promo piece is the original art work created by artist Mehmet Sait Sener .You can see the work in its full glory on the main menu screen of NTW3 or on the artist’s website. I must say it was great to liaise with a real artist and see a work gradually emerge piece by piece.

Great, lots of variety. In general they lack some refinement, mainly text wise and image proportion. Also like Giovi said some filters are out of place.

Your best so far are the square pieces for CaW. Even though they're basic the lotr and Batman GC submissions are also really good.

I went for a downplayed film noir kind of look, that's my story and I'm sticking to it heheh. A great film one of my all time favourites.

Don't really use brushes much at all so though i'd mess around with a few on these Napoleonic sigs.

    Opinions...
    1) one just doesnt work with that style.
    2) one good but you could have left some of the solider and horse out of the effect. other than that the colours don't blend nicely. though I do like the idea essentially.
    3) See above points.. but the colours blend well.
    4) too much blur everywhere.

you have improved quite well in the last few weeks! rep for your increased skills

@Sübü'ätäi (I recall this name from Mongol History, what an amazing general!! Could you recommended any books specifically on him, if there is any in the English language.

On 4): Being the last stand of the Guard I wanted it to look blurry and chaotic though I didn't use any blur effects, I just duplicated and shifted one layer a touch to the side. Though your right it could be toned down a bit.

rep would be brilliant if one could exchange it for sweets or something

    Surreal Submission

Anyone familiar with the works of Caspar David Friedrich will recognise the figure from his painting Wanderer above the Sea of Fog. I think it looks a touch more 'escapist' than overtly surreal but I feel the term offers a rather broad scope. Bigger picture in spoiler.
