Possible emergent factions:

Kingdom of Alba(Fortriu) / Deheubarth (Dyfed)

Brief description of factions:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Fortriu

Once, the legend says, there was a Pict king named Cruithne, son of Cing. Cruithne reigned for a hundred years and he had seven sons, who were named Fib, Fidach, Fotla, Fortriu, Caitt, Ce and Circenn. Upon his death the kingdom was divided between his seven sons. Scone was the capital of the strongest of the southern kingdoms, Fortriu.

Northumbria

Composed of the union of two independent kingdoms, Bernicia and Deira by Aethelfrith, a king of Bernicia who conquered Deira around the year 604. He was defeated and killed around the year 616 in battle Raedwald of East Anglia, who installed Edwin, the son of Aella, a former king of Deira, as king.

Laighean

Prior to the latter 5th century the overlordship of Leinster was held by the Fir Domnann, who invaded Leinster sometime before the 4th century, from western Caernarvonshire in Wales.
They were ousted by the Uí Failge, Uí Bairrche and Uí Enechglaiss. The Uí Bairrche are in turn said to be related to the Brigantes tribe of northern Britain, and they ruled southern Leinster from the earliest centuries A.D.

Essex

The region of the East Seaxe was settled by Saxons from circa AD 500, and it occupied the former British territory of Caer Colun, north and east of London. There was probably already a Saxon population in the area from the late fourth century; the descendants of Roman foederati. In 616 Eadbald's claim of overlordship over the East Seaxe is rejected by his three cousins Sexred, Sæweard and Seaxbald who becomes joint kings there at the same time as Eadbald becomes king of the Cantware.

East_Anglia

Settling first in the north the Angles in the region gained ascendancy between 475-495 from the British territory of Caer Went. The kingdom of the East Angles was founded in circa AD 575 as a result of the uniting of the North and Suth Folk. The Anglians were not totally dominant in the area; there was also a sizable Saxon presencesettled in this area as foederati before the collapse of Roman rule.

Gwynedd

Located in in the former territories of the Deceangli and Ordovices. A group of Votadini Picts (under Cunedda Wledig were transferred by Magnus Maximus to secure Western Britain from Irish raiders, moving from the Manau Goutodin kingdom. In Wales, Cunedda governed most of the north. His father and grandfather bore Roman names and in true Celtic fashion, Cunedda could trace his lineage back to Beli Mawr.

Wessex

The Saxon Gewissae, landed on the south coast and began to carve out an area of settlement for themselves. This was traditionally in AD 495, where they were led by Cerdic, whose mother were British. Cerdic headed a British power bloc which, with German mercenaries or help related through intermarriage to Jutes or Saxons, staged a takeover and was able to set up a viable Brito-Saxon kingdom after the heavy Saxon defeat at Mons Badonicus.

Ui_Neill

The sons of Niall of the Nine Hostages, Eoghan, Conall, and Enda, travelled north from the kingdom of Connacht into the western and northern regions of the kingdom of Ulster (county Donegal). It was here in the 5th century that the Cenél Eóghain and Cenél Conaill began to establish themselves as overlords in northwestern Ulster.

Dyfneint

Although under Roman control until the late fourth century, the Celtic tribe of the Dumnonii probably exercised a certain amount of self-government in their own lands. They most probably re-established their kingdom as a power in its own right by the time of Magnus Maximus, as the latter prepared Britain's defences prior to establishing his own claim for control of the Roman Empire in AD 383.

Mercia

From circa AD 520 the Iclingas gradually moved into the East Midlands, alongside other groups who eventually came to be known as the Middil Engle. From circa AD 600 the Iclingas began absorbing the Saxon and Anglian kingdoms and tribes of the eastern Midlands into their territory, and became known as Mercians, meaning Lords of the March. The early Mercians held the main border in the emerging Engla-land, and were instrumental in pushing back the borders of British kingdoms such as Cynwidion and Pengwern.

Mumhan

The Éoganacht were a federation of tribes claiming a common lineage from Éogan Mór, Son of Ailill Aulomm. They spread throughout Munster and were noted as kings of Munster from an early period until the rise of the Dal gCais in the 10th century.

Connacht

The fourth century 'high king' of Ireland Eochu Mugmedón's son Bríon was the ancestor of the Uí Briúin, who along with the descendants of Eochu's son Fiachra Foltsnaithech, ancestor of the Uí Fiachrach, were to rule the province of Connacht for seven centuries. One of Eochu Mugmedón's other sons was Niall [of the Nine Hostages], ancestor of the Uí Neill, whose descendants were to dominate the Irish high kingship over a similar extended period.

Dyfed

The British kingdom based on the Celtic tribal territory of the Demetae was created in 382 by one of the sons of Magnus Maximus.
The Irish Deisi tribe were settled by the Roman authorities in the Demetian region. Their leader, Aed Brosc`s grandfather, Eochaid Allmuir, had been forced to leave his homeland after a bid for independence was severely crushed by the Irish High King. The descendants of Aed's eldest son, Urb, founded the Kingdom of Brycheiniog between 420-450, while his younger son, Triffyn Farfog, married the heiress of the Demetian kings.

Alt_Clut

Centered on the Clyde headwaters and its capital of Dumbarton, or Alcluith. Formed into a kingdom in the second century, when a descendant of Caratacus of the Catuvellauni collected together a force of 'free Britons' in opposition to the 'enslaved' Britons and their roman masters to the south. Alt Clut remained for the most part an independent kingdom, one of the few British kingdoms never to be conquered by the English or Normans

Dal_Riata

In descent from Cairbre Rioghfhoda, Dal Riata was the tribal and territorial name of the early tribes of County Antrim. The Dal Riada extended their kingdom into Scotland probably during the 3rd to the 7th centuries. The early term that the Romans referred to these and other tribes from Ireland was the "Scoti".

Gwent

Founded as a kingdom of the Silures Britons, Ewyas was situated east of mid-south Wales, and seems to have been as well-established and as early as Dyfneint to the south. Gwent evolved from Ewyas, it continued to use Caer Gwent as its capital. The kingdom was renamed Gwerthefyriwg in honour of Vortigern's son, and later came to be known after its capital.

Powys

Centered at Caer Meguaidd, and covering much of the modern Welsh border, Powys derived its name from the descriptive Latin pagenses, '(land of the) country dwellers' or 'people of the pagi'.
Powys was almost certainly Vortigern's native land. According to tradition, Vortigern's second son was handed Powys when Vortigern became High King. In
circa 570, Powys was apparently divided in two. The name was retained for the western half, while the eastern half became Pengwern.

Cantware

Founded in AD 450, this was the very earliest of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. Made up of a mixture of Germanic Jutes and Celtic Britons, the Jutes were originally used as mercenaries by the controlling British forces. For the first century or so, the Jutes had joint rulers; Hengist may have led them, but Horsa ruled alongside him until his death in battle with the British, and then Hengist's son Aesc took on the role until Hengist's death.

Non Playable:

Danelag
(Emergen Faction)

A large number of Vikings landed in East Anglia their leaders were Ivar the Boneless and Halfdan sons of Ragnar Lodbrok, and Anlaf Cuaran, the King of Dublin. The 'Great Army' moved north into Northumbria. In 867 the Danes attacked Northumbria and York. They wanted revenge for the death of their father who had been killed by Aella, the King of Northumbria. The Danes destroyed many churches and monasteries including Whitby Abbey. The monasteries remained ruined for two hundred years.

Mide (Southern Ui´Neil´s Rebels)

The Middle Kingdom, the ancient Irish territories of Mide and Brega, which held one of the great ritual and royal sites in ancient Ireland, that of Tara. Niall Noígiallag established himself as king of Tara around the turn of the 5th century AD. His sons and grandsons continued a conquest of the northern Laigin territories to carve out the sub-kingdoms of Mide and Brega for their descendants.

Norsemen (Emergen faction)

Both Orkney and Shetland saw a significant influx of Norwegian settlers during the late 8th and early 9th centuries. Harald Hårfagre ("Harald Fair Hair") subdued the rovers in 875 and annexed the Northern Isles to Norway.
The Hebrides came under Norse control already before the 9th century. Norwegian rule of the Hebrides was formalised in 1098 when Edgar of Scotland recognised the claim of Magnus III of Norway after the Norwegian king had conquered the Orkney Islands, the Hebrides and the Isle of Man in a campaign, directed against the local Norse leaders of the various islands.

Ynis Manaw (Rebels)

The Isle of Man was taken by the Irish in the fifth to sixth centuries. Before that, for a short time, its king ruled over the Picts in Galwyddel. That region was absorbed into Rheged, but became a dominion of Ynys Manau again from around 632.

Breifne (Rebels)

Bréifne was held by the clans of the Uí Briúin Breifne, descendants of Aodh Fionn(Hugh the fair), from the 7th century. Around the 6th century the Conmaicne Rein are thought to have moved north from around the present Dunmore and settled in Magh Rein. About the 8th century, the area was conquered and settled by the Uí Briúin (O Brian) who were a branch of the royal family of Connacht.

Airgialla (Rebels)

Ancient Irish tradition tells us that Airghialla was a territory in northern Ireland founded by the three Collas about the 4th century of the Christian Era. The three Collas made war with the High King of Ireland, Fiachadh, and overthrew and killed him in order to sieze the Kingship for Colla Uais. The term Airgialla is translated as 'those who give hostages', alluding to a subordinate status of the various groups inhabiting the area.

Caith (Picts Rebels)
Once, the legend says, there was a Pict king named Cruithne, son of Cing. Cruithne reigned for a hundred years and he had seven sons, who were named Fib, Fidach, Fotla, Fortriu, Caitt, Ce and Circenn. The northern Picts were combined in one kingdom, that of Cat, under the powerful Brudei.

Woad warriors are of the religious type, they believe that the woad can protect them against the enemy, and its a sort of intimidation as well.

that was sort of the whole point, any one crazy enough to fight naked must be quite dangerous at any rate...
still the woad warriors and also chariots are rather exotic units to our mod. as such they will not be available in great numbers and only at special occasions.
both unit swill be mostly related to the irish factions.
