I haven't visited these forums in a year so tell me if I'm doing something wrong.
1. Will the game files have the same layout so we can still go in and unlock all the factions before playing the campaign? 2. How will you transition between America, Europe, and India in the grand campaign map? 3. Do you guys think the special edition is worth it? I really want the units just in case I need them. And the map and stuff would be nice too. |

Expanding on that, just buy the Collector's Edition, which comes with the Special Units, some artwork, and a map.
It's an extra $20, but consider that a $20 towards the quality of future TW games.

I got the collectors edition because i like the idea of fleeting around with the HMS victory. And I like light infantry alot. I just with there was a promo unit of Dragoons: now that would be cool. |

I was under the impression that he was referring to the Special Forces edition on Steam, as that is not sold uniquely in retail.

Thanks for your help.
Also, is there any word on the cheats? I always use the toggle_fow and sometimes the add_money 50000 cheat. Only when I needed that one. Will they be the same? Or is this currently unknown? |

Unknown, but rest assured I'm sure there will be cheats. Honestly though, from my experiences cheats only take value away from the game.

That is very true. It depends on what game, what cheats, and how much you use them.

Hah. But have you ever used cheats on Saints Row 2? They make the game 10x more hilarious and don't make it easier. They make it harder. |

(lol j/k) and no, i haven't used the cheats in saints row: to be honest, I find the entire genre of game to be rather hollow. Go here. kill this guy. heres the money. Oh, and there are some prostitutes. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Not exactly a thinking mans game, I'd suppose. |

You're right about the missions in SR2. But have you played Co-Op with a good friend after you've beaten the game? It's amazing. Activate cheats (but dont save if youre on the 360) and mess around. It brings hours of constant laughing if you use certain cheats. A bit ironic that you talk about the game being all about killing, money, and prostitutes (which don't even play a role in the game at all) and then you call it non-manly. |

Bah damn you Jayzilla!!! Don't worry the peasants will have the last laugh when they start a revolution in your ETW campaign and destroy you and your royalist forces!

but what I mean by "thinking mans' game" is not 'manliness' per se: A good example of a thinking man's game is Chess. Certainly it doesn't excite the blood, but the intricate dance of mind versus mind can definatly be intoxicating! I hope that claifies what I mean. And while i'm thinking about person vs. person combat, I've got very high hopes for the multiplayer campaign that they are talking about adding. talk about engaging! |

I love games of all genres. SR2 is basically my game that I play when I want to have tons of mindless fun and laugh a lot. I play Total War a lot though. Mostly for making myself think on the spot and learn new things. Also the epic battles are amazing. |
