| Viking Invasion II (BI) Viking Invasion II aims to recreate the campaign of the cult-status MTW: Viking Invasion on the Rome BI engine. It sticks closely to the original campaign, only making changes to correct large inaccuracies, to improve gameplay and comply with the new engine. Hey Aradan.
Really nice work here, its so nice to see this type of mod finished. As one of the main developers of AOVAF TW, i am so happy to see that some of our hard work wasn't in vain, and that someone managed to adapt all that hard work in to a finished product. Fantastic work, and keep on modding -Skel- |

That looks truly epic, I hope those shots aren't doctored, but all in all, very cool!

Some are touched up (you can see which ones) but most are unedited.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Is the stone wall on the left side of the pic one of the new "ambient battle-map buildings" or have I never noticed this fine product of Anglo-Saxon Numenor Stone Work before...? :hmmm: |

The wall is part of the new textures, yes. Thrice forged in the Dwarven kilns of Merthyr Tydfil and hauled by Shire pony all the way into the heart of Saxondom where Hobbit bricklayers get to work...

Rast Losnaeth is a rocky peninsula in the Northern Waste of Middle-Earth...great craftsmen settled there...some of Numenorian descent...but this is ICE-stuff...not of pure Tolkien descent...
Some more pics of the new Vikingr Units which are on PotW and UESW: Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Spoiler Alert, click show to read: EDIT: The Ancient Stone Wall: (Edited) Spoiler Alert, click show to read: EDIT2: Have you thought about installing a thread where you give information about building(-trees) and units with pictures, Aradan? Fixed.
Hehe, that's not Tolkien lore, that's fan-fiction, and as always not quite on par with the original. We just steer clear from it. Nice pics indeed. Added. Quote:

I was thinking of something like danova's buildings preview for Viking Invasion II...
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=211030 Are you sure to have "tweaked campaign balance [...] slightly easier wessex"...? I tried several times with Wessex and I had nothing to shout about, because religious unrest parameters appear to be altered...Danes had no problems to capture and hold cities...I doubt that you have tried to win with Wessex in VI2-1.6... Edit: For me it's usually called "Mittelerde"... Last edited by Halvar von Flake; March 15, 2009 at 03:29 PM. |

Nah, it wouldn't serve a purpose now that the mod is released.
As for balance: Yes, I am pretty sure I've tested on 1.6. Let's keep this thread focused on the pics. |

You're right, Aradan! I managed to get my Wessex campaign (on very hard campaign and battle difficulty) under control...
Wessex 860: Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Surrounded (on PotW) Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Victory at Londinium (on UESW) Spoiler Alert, click show to read: EDIT: Awesome campaign as always! Hoping to make screens of Selected Fyrdmen soon... Last edited by Halvar von Flake; March 22, 2009 at 05:11 PM. |

Yes, I like the lots of little armies around the bigger Danish armies. I suppose there is some rhyme or reason to it?
