Picture of the Week (PotW) and Unedited Screenshot of the Week (UESW) Rules and FAQ (for reference)

Picture of the Week is a weekly screenshot competition. Current PotW Manager: B. Ward

General Rules for both contests:

1) Submissions must be screenshots originating from the "Total War" series or a "Total War" series modification.

2) Each user is allowed one vote per contest. Use of alternate accounts to vote is strictly prohibited.

3) Advertising of the PotW and UESW contests is allowed, for example in signatures. However, anyone caught asking for votes in the PotW contest in any way will be banned from the contest for three months, at the discretion of the PotW manager. It is perfectly acceptable to advertise the PotW contest, but do not ask for votes for yourself or any other specific user or submission.

4) You cannot submit the same screenshot to both the PotW and UESW contests. This rule applies even if the screenshot is edited and submitted to PotW and left unedited and submitted to UESW. Also each screenshot may only be submitted ONCE, to EITHER the PotW or UESW contest.

5)The PotW manager will take whatever steps necessary to insure the integrity of both the PotW and UESW contests.

PotW Specific Rules

1) Submissions may be edited or unedited.

2) Animated GIFs or Videos are not allowed. The contest is for screenshots, which means a single image.

UESW Specific Rules

1. The UESW works the same way as the normal PotW, but it is for UNEDITED screenshots ONLY. The only editing you can do is cropping the screenshot. No borders or anything else allowed. It has to be a single unedited screenshot.

Picture of the Week Medal:

Winners of the Picture of the Week contest (PotW) qualify for the PotW medal. The medal is not awarded for the UESW contest. The medal will be awarded according to the following schedule;

3-8 wins - bronze medal

9-14 wins - silver medal

15+ wins - gold medal

Any member can qualify for this award.

Manager Instructions

Here is how it works:

Each week hopefully, depending on how many submissions we get:

1. The winner thread will be closed, unstickied and moved to the archive.
2. A new winner thread will be posted and stickied, with the winner of the current vote.
3. The vote thread will be closed, unstickied and moved to the archive.
4. A new vote thread will be posted and stickied with the current submissions.
5. The submissions thread will closed, unstickied and moved to the archive.
6. A new submissions thread will be opened and stickied.
7. The winners archive will be updated.
(Repeat)

Thus, at any point in time, there should be a winner, vote and submissions thread all open at once. This process will also be used for the Unedited Screen shots of the Week (UESW).
