I jsut had to note: I went back and played RTW and I can say that MTW Diplomacy is, to me, is superior to RTW - It was friggin awful in RTW. No it was worse than awful.

Kudos to improvements for diplomacy.

As a side notes:
RTW it is much easier to do Blitzkreig style warfare than in MTWII.
Plus I like how you dont have silly things in MTW like "war dogs"

NON SOLUM ARMIS......

I just booted up RTW for the first time in a year (or two?), and EB for the first time ever.

I could be compeltely wrong, but the battlefield feels much larger. I do remember for the first time I played MTW2 the battles felt 'cramped', now I remember why I probably felt like this.

I had the same feeling when I went back just to Vanilla RTW - everthing feels more epic. The thing about RTW diplomacy was that I didn't really care about the constant backstabbing and port-blockading from allies since the setting and style of the game are SUPPOSED to encourage 'blitzkreig-ing' - you're building an empire to last a thousand years for flip's sake. M2 should really be more about at least preserving your nation's sovereignty so you expect far more competant AI. RTW beats M2, imo.

Diplomacy might be a little better but for the most part they're the same game.

Though I prefer RTW because of the more unique factions and era.

Arrogance is the Leading Cause of Defeat.
