Good luck, everyone!!
On the tenth day of the eleventh month of the tenth year of the third millennium CE, I felt a great disturbance, like millions of spamming voices all screamed and then suddenly went quiet, a great tragedy had occured, the "Describe the person above you" thread, the source of all wisdom had been closed.

Ok the campaign has now truly begun! Rohan's turn

P.S There is no garrison script right? Since none of the factions are AI controlled. Just making sure...

ahhhh did you read the post above yours?
Books are useless! I only ever read one book, “To Kill A Mockingbird,” and it gave me absolutely no insight on how to kill mockingbirds! Sure it taught me not to judge a man by the color of his skin…but what good does *that* do me?

Triforce I think its a good idea if you tell people about where the save file goes, how to package the save file and upload it etc. Refer to this hotseat campaign that has a neat set of instructions on the front page: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=6107538#post6107538

There were some questions about the hotseat in general so i just tried to explain a bit for everyone:

1. the first player (TriforceV) plays his turn.
2. He saves the game and uploads the file in the thread as a rar. You can find your saves in this directory X:\Programms\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\saves
3. the next player (eregost) downloads the save and unpacks it in the correct directory. again its: X:\Programms\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\saves
4. eregost starts the game and loads the savefile. Now its his turn and he does the same procedure as TriforceV did.

Eregost already made it so now its Crazyguys turn. and after that its my turn... and someday... it might be your turn. You can look up the order in the first post of triforceV

Q:So what do I have to do now?
A: I wait until its my turn.

When its your turn:
1. Download the file.
2. Unpack it in the correct directory (so you can load it ingame) X:\Programms\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\saves
3. Start the game, load the savegame
4. At the first time you will be asked to chose a password. so chose a password
5. Play your turn
6. push end turn
7. save the game
8. upload your file

you can practise the procedure by pretending you were crazyguy and download the savefile just to find out how its supposed to work.

Good tips G-Spike. Only thing is I was the first to play my turn. Triforce just hosted the campaign but he plays Mordor

Don't mean to sound dumb here but...can't find my saves folder. Here is what I have as far as I can tell.

C:\Programs\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\ 3 folders:custom, data, preferences.

DOHHHH

Somebody drop me a clue here so when my turn comes up I don't hold us up here. Thanks.

Maybe the save folder only appears once you have some saves? Do you have any saves? And if not then you could make the folder yourself.

Yes exactly,
Your save folder is created when you make your first save.
My suggest is load up a single player game and make a save, and then exit. and you will find your folder

*NOTICE*

Due to popular request, I have made a new section on the Introduction thread Third Age: Total War 1.3 on IN DEPTH instructions on how to play the campaign.

This includes, how to download the turn, find your Save Folder, extract the file, play the file, compress and upload back the threads.
It includes pictures and detailed instructions, so you all should know how to go about doing it

please visit the first post of this thread located :

Triforce I read your instructions but might I suggest simply dragging the file out of WinRaR instead of extracting because its simply easier and faster

Its in another place for me, im using windows 7 btw.

C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\saves

Either try making a unique save name in a campaign game then searching for it or look in youe AppData folder

It's just a general guide, there's plenty of ways of fiddling with extractor, different extractors and methods and even different Operating System's (windows 7, vista etc)..
If I went at great length at description everything at its entirety.. It would never end.

I have saved games but the folder still doesn't exist there. I created a folder and titled it saves but when I tried to extract into there I got an error message from the winzip program. I am using the evaluation version of the program Triforce posted from download.com
