mine was my last one i played, and it changed from things i explained in what happens in your campaign topic, drasticly. OK i was the veniciens. and this was a long campaign. severel times i was announced strongest faction, most expanded, highest nation in TECH. like b4 Holy Roman Empire were my allies, then years and years later they kept on spying on me. and i always caught their spys every time. and then they cancelled our alliance, and in time i got fed up with it so i cancelled our trade rights. BIG MISTAKE i know, and thorougly this pissed em off real bad. whihin 2 years we were at war. they lost 3 cities to me and 1 castle. then they allied themselves with millan. and in a few turns they were at war with me for poor relations. and they took Venice whithout lifting a finger. they had more advanced units. and so we fight for several turns, never get Venice back and Sicily, my trusted allie turns on my and all i have left to go to is the Byzantines and their gettin Owned by the Turks. i quit when i got confined to my last settlement. Usually i own but this was my first time being Venice

My first ever M2TW campaign was with France. As I was expert at RTW, I decided to play that one in VH/VH. After 30 turns, I was at war against Spain, Portugal, England, HRE, Denmark, Poland, Milan and Sicily. Pope-o-meter was low, finances went red etc. etc.
Needless to say, I quit the campaign shortly after... ![]() UN: All problems would be solved if everyone could just sit down and talk. Bin Laden: But the problem is that everyone must speak Arabic first! |

Worst campaign? Never had a bad campaign.
My hardest campaign, however, was my first one with the Holy Roman Empire - In which I struggled from turn 10 to turn 150, fighting Venice, Milan, France, Scotland, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Byzantine Empire and Egypt. At different times, of course. It was also one of my funnest campaigns - It taught me how to play the game, and I have had my share of insane and unbelievable defeats/victories in that campaign. This Turkish campaign where I decided i'd only do what the council asked me to do. I'm bankrupt, my lands are undeveloped and I have a weak military. Mongols come along and then I realise it would be stupid to continue the campaign.

My Byzantine campaign on SS 6.1 which was VERY similar to it's history. By 1453 the situation was the same in real life, except I win the siege of Constantinople and get a herioc victory and destroyed 4 full stacks wich was the turning point in the Byzantine-Turkish war. After that, the Pope calls a Crusade and all Catholic nations help me!

my very first campaign, with hre, which was my first total war game. i know nothing about the game and listen that dumb advisor. venice-milan-sicily-france-hungary attacked me, pope excommunacated, inquisator killed much of my generals and finally a crusade to venice-my city, that i conquerd with a very bloody battle- declared. i stop playing and unlock other fations by using codes i found on web-bypass the advisor-and start a campaign with turks. though it wasnt also that perfect but-with too much fun- finished around turn 80 with long vic, (i was lucky that i havent see any mongol army at all, they settled kiev and destroyed russia).

My least favorite campaign was H/H Portugal. I removed Spain from the picture quite quickly, but the Moors decided it'd be fun to poke me in the rear halfway through my preparations for France. then, while I fought the Moors, France charged me, taking Zaragoza and Valencia. I eventually got them back, fought France back to Toulouse and the Moors off the Peninsula, then the most randomest thing happened.
The Papal States attacked me, Took Zaragoza, and declared a Crusade on Lisbon. The whole way through this campaign I was constantly going "WTF" and raging. |

Russia. I ally with Poland and Hungary and stick to turtling in the steppe. I'm being very industrious, I move my capital to Kiev, and I have my most loyal general dispatched to every corner of the empire establishing watch towers so I can see everything in my dominion. I stay out of European politics by fighting the Turks and driving them South of the Caucasus.
I have perfect relations with the Papal States when all of sudden Poland betrays me with a two pronged invasion at Riga and Vilnius. I destroy both armies and my reputation with the Pope is suddenly shot. Well, Father, put your flocks on a leash. I destroy the Poles when Hungary betrays me. I decide to just draw a line in the sand and not destroy them. Instead I decide to get back on the Pope's good side. The Pople is losing a war against Milan which controls every province in Italy with the Pope stuck on some island, so I send an expedition with one of my best generals and a full stack of unmounted boyars, trebuchets, and unmounted archers. I break then destroy Milan and give every territroy to the Pope. By this time the Mongols invasions are in full swing, (North of Tbilisi, of course) and are on a warpath straight for Kiev. They take it and thus begins a brutal war of attrition that eventually ends with the Mongols forced into the South and Eastern parts of my Empire. Then England, another ally betrays me. Then the HRE, then Denmark. Here's the weird thing, Denmark had only one province and was fighting the English, my enemies, for dear life, but they decided it was worth sending troops to Riga? Yeah, apparently defending myself in my own territory from very untrustworthy factions is grounds for my relations with the Pope to take a nose dive, and then the plague hits my richer trading cities like a ton of bricks. Knowing my luck the Timurids will come through Russia as well. :\ The only faction that hasn't tried to invade yet is the Byzantines, but they're allied with Hungary, so I'm expecting a visit in Caffa sometime soon. |

In my hardest campaign I was Jerusalem in a mod called Broken Crescent, awsome mod btw.
In my Jerusalem Campaign I played through 15 turns, took 3 citys, and had about -10000 florins... The mod is great, but Jerusalem is the Ultimate challange. On turn 16 I was at war with my neighbors to the south (Ayyubids) and north (Turks and Armenia). After 7 hard fought battles, and losing about 10000 troops, I was given a break. I managed to get peace; I was at war for only 5 turns. Then after about 8 turns I got a stable economy and an awsome 2 stack army in the south of my Kingdom, one of the stacks decieds to Rebel. So I crush them, then the next turn I was again at war to the north (Great Seljuks). They capture much of my Territory, so I ask the Pope for help. He decided to send an army, which, instead of helping me, attacks Constantinople. So now the Eastern Roman Empire is at war with me. Ive spent 10 hours on this campaign and have yet to get more than 15 provinces. But thankfully my economy is looking good and I am amassing a force in the north to annihilate everyone who dares get in my way. I'm afraid to call any more crusades though... I'm still relatively new to this mod, but it is so amazing! ![]() "We fight to ignore, this horrific thing called War." Last edited by Cormag; November 02, 2009 at 08:09 PM. |

Never had "worst campaigns" but my hardest was with Venice, H/H. Consolidating my power in Italy (which means conquering it all except for Rome) turned out to take 60 turns. Then those despicable Moors and Spaniards decided it would be fun to block all my ports, so I hardly had much income to support my stacks or create new ones. After 30 turns I finally conquered the Spanish territories at the western Mediterranean and all Moors territory, save for Timbuktu. Then the French, Byzantines, Hungarians, HREs and Danes (wtf were they doing so south anyway?) Decided it would be hilarious to form alliances and all team up against me. Fortunately they lacked sea ports in the Mediterranean to blockade my ports there, so I could create stacks on the assembly line like crazy. I allied with England who had a powerfull empire at that time (Most of the North coasts of Europa and the entire English islands) and now we're pushing back the French, in order to meet at Paris, and then continue on to the HRE and push further into Europe...
Sincerely,
KoP |

My first campaign as France was tough, I was at war with Spain, Portugal, Moors, Milan, Venice, HRE, England, Scotland, Papal States and the Turks at the same time. I think i defended maybe 7-8 stacks when they called a Crusade on Toulouse.
But that was nothing compared to this VH/VH campaign I tried to play as Venice. I think taking Zagreb off the bat pissed some people off. Within 15 turns the HRE, ERE, Sicily, and Hungary all declared war on me and were constantly laying seige to Venice and Zagreb (after having lost Ragusa to the ERE). So far I have been successful in defending Zagreb and Venice after multiple stacks. I had a glorious victory over the HRE after defending Venice and thought I should go on the offense finally and take Bologna, wow that was stupid. My one stack was crushed in the open between Venice and Bologna, and now I have I think maybe 2 groups of arches defending Venice with 4 HRE stacks outside. I havent played it in a week, think Ill start over :x |

My current campaign, I never been in such a predicament but I enjoy the xtra challenge.
I play Venice, I asked for a crusade on Bagdad turn 50ish and went on a successful multi-stacked land grabbing expedition (destroyed the Turks, Egyptian and Byzzis). So I set up camp there waiting for the Mongols to appear. They wandered around for a while and I had to wait turn 107 for them to start attacking at Antioch. I managed to fight and destroyed 5 full stacks in 3 consecutive turns with no time to neither retrain nor reinforce (first 1 stack, then 2 and 2) and lost the city on the 4th siege. They are now attacking me at Adana and Aleppo, with one full stack each and they have another full army going to Acre/Jerusalem. While that was happening, I got myself xcomed fighting the Poles, then a few turns later I lost Genoa, Florence, Venice, Nuremberg, Prague, Budapest, Thelassonica, Constantinople and Nicaea to civil unrest. I forgot about building new walls and public order building while I had my eyes on the Mongols, and the excom tipped all those into rebellion. The pope died of old age (thank god), so I get reconciled since I owned the college. I am 61K in the red, and after trimming my troops to the bone and up-ing the tax to the max I'll be debt free in 7/8 turns (sooner if I sack something). So I can't train or repair anything (I have one 57 year old diplomat, and no spy). I am very untrustworthy, have trade rights with nobody and I am actively at war with HRE, Spain, Sicily, Milan, Poland, Denmark, Mongols, Portugal, Moors and Russia, all with abysmal relations. Now on the bright side, I have 30 turn before the Black Death arrives. |

On the long campaign pick any faction, put it on M/M. Thumb your nose at the Pope and roll on...150 moves max.
