Legless Lannes, a regular on the Graphics Competition, started his gallery a bit over a year ago and during that time has shown a great evolution. His first works looked promising but they often had a lack of direction and expressiveness, he often overused or misused filters, a common mistake among beginners in photoshop. But in time and with sound advice he found his personal style and expression and showed a great amount of versatility, delving into Design, Screenshot making and logo making to name a few.
The CD cover and T-shirt look different but are great graphic design examples, they both use illustrations in a smart and effective way and are perfectly complemented by the typography. They also share a comic undertone and attention to details that are always nice to see.

Here we have some examples of his logo making work. Nothing flashy but still effective. I would like to draw attention to the high contrast black and red backgrounds that have a great deal of texture, the overall feel is really dynamic.
The screenshots made by Legless Lannes have a very distinctive look, they are made to look almost like paintings which most of us know is not an easy feat to do. All his screenshots in various wallpaper sizes can be seen here.
These signatures best showcase his style, that I perceive as romantic, displaying strong emotions and having a dream like quality achieved through carefully placed brush strokes and low opacity overlay textures. The subjects in the signatures are often gazing into nothingness much like the Wanderer above the sea of fog, which he honored in his Surrealism GC entry.

Okay, first it is a Comic, fantasy style for now. And further, it is driven by the Community.
What does it mean? Well someone (maybe you) write the plot, and a drawer (that might be you, if you got any talent in drawing) will try to draw the scene that you imagined.
I hereby proudly present you the STORY SO FAR:

Below you can find the rules (set by Aanker):
RULES:
- This is a community project that requires cooperation, not only between me and the participants, but also between the participants themselves. Keep that in mind when you design your strip/set of images: build on what others have done (that means not introducing a new character every time it is your turn), stay within the limits of the story established in the introducing 'pages' and don't put your successors in akward situations. Simply put: be nice.
- Only when it is your turn may you submit a plot plan, spanning three or four images (although I can accept variations; a battle scene may require one, large image etc.).
- No breaking of TWC rules.
- Try to avoid political, religious or cultural allegories. I wouldn't enjoy drawing a scene that, between the lines, says 'Swedes are awful'.
GUIDELINES:
Submit your suggestion with the following structure (or something that resembles this structure):
-General Description
--Background (intentions, recommendations on what should follow etc.)
--New Characters, if necessary, include their abbreviations
-Script
--Image 1
---Description of the scene
---Dialogue and event lines
--Image 2

This months freebie is a set of 6 Quality Text Styles for photoshop. This set features 3 different gold styles, a silver, bronze, and stone style.
Download Here *zip file containing the text styles, and a sample .psd
Figure 1: 'Layers Panel'.
If you are unsure how to install these text styles, view this tutorial. You need to install them in the style presets.
Once installed, you should be able to apply them as layer style to any layer, advised is to add it to text, but there is nothing stopping you from experimenting with it for other purposes as well. The styles are named, and consist of 2 or 3 different ones that need to be used together. If you for example want to apply the 'Gold Light' style, you need to make your text layer, and duplicate it once so you have two. Now apply 'Gold Light 1/2' to the bottom layer, and 'Gold Light 2/2' to the one above that.
If you are unsure how to apply these layer styles, this last paragraph is for you. There are many ways to apply a style, first you need to open up the 'Layer Style' dialog. To do this you can 1) Right-click the layer in the layers panel(see Fig. 1), and select 'Blending Options'. 2) Double-click on the space surrounding the layers name in the layers panel. 3) Select 'Blending Options' from the 'Layer>Layer Style' menu. in the Layer style dialog(see Fig. 2), go to styles(1), select the desired style(2), and press OK(3)
