All right, here is my latest. I'm still kind of working on it since I am not fully satisfied with it yet, but for now I am giving it a break. It is from a figurine I saw a while back, so forgive me if it is not 100 percent accurate.

Found the link to the image I was inspired by - http://www.romeomodels.com/product_i...roducts_id=226

oh yeah, that is one amazing model haloband, if you could just add a few more details he would look like a Primus Pilus or an officer, also the area around the small iron plate with a ball on it in the middle of the shield is suppose to be where the legion of the soldier would be written (I.E Legio VI Victrix)

Thanks General Sultan, I appreciate the suggestions and will try to implement them when I work on this model again. I'll see if I can do a Primus Pilus in the near future. I'm not a fast as AndyMoszejevsky, so it may take a while.

Optio with heavy armor & Legionary weapons?

Haloband legionary soldiers did'n wear crests on their helmets towards the 1st Century AD, The only type of decoration only early-imperial/late republican marian legionnaires was pony-tails attached to helmet. if you want to utilize that model with the crested helmet, you could give him a long staff with an iron-ball attached to the end of it and he would resemble an Optio (un-commissioned officer who aided the centurion in keeping order during the fighting, also helped with other camp-duties)
