Default Rise of the Republic v 1.1 Preview

As a new version for Rise of the Republic is on the horizon, let me summarize what we've done in the past years and what will be new in the next release.

4 new Factions are added and completely reworked. So apart from France and Great Britain there are the USA, the Kingdom of Prussia and the Electorates of Saxony and Hannover. Furthermore you can already recruit some new Swedish and Russian units in the Battle mode.

    Units
At first there are of course the units.
France and Great Britain will still have there old roster, with a few additions as the Rifle Corps or Scots Greys (or historically correct: the Royal North British Dragoons) for Great Britain or the Chasseurs à Cheval or Légion Noire for the French Republic.
    Rifle Corps
    Scots Greys
    Légion Noire

The 4 new Factions have all their unique roster.
So the US will have a relatively strong militia while not having a lot of regulars.
    US Units

Prussia will have a large amount of units from every type but there cavalry will be inferior.
    Prussian Units
    Fusiliers
    Guard
    Dragoons
    Cuirassiers

On the other hand Hannover will have a number of great cavalry units and a few elite light units and average infantry. Furthermore the relatively good training level of the Hanoverian army will be reflected.
    Hanoverian Units
    Guard Grenadiers
    Hanoverian East India Regiments
Yes Hannover sent 2 regiments to India in order to help the EIC during the 1780s
    Hanoverian Guard
    Hanoverian General and Staff officer
    14th Light Infantry

Saxony was after the devastating Seven Years War in no state to uphold a good working army. So Saxony has only average infantry and cavalry units. Light units will only appear late in the game.

    Tech trees
As you may have noticed in the previous version, we started on creating new tech-trees. This work was continued for the next version. But only to the Army and Philosophy tech-trees. It reflects the Factions focus and specialities.
    As example:
    US Philosophy tech-tree

    1.2 Social Contract
    2.1 Empiricism
    3.2 Separation of Powers
    4.1 Encyclopedie
    5.2 Common Government
    6.1 Learned Society
    6.2 Declaration of Independence
    6.3 Virginia Declaration of Rights
    7.2 Articles of Confederation
    8.1 Scientific Method
    8.2 Federalism
    8.4 National Bank
    9.2 Constitution
    9.3 Judiciary Act
    9.4 Coinage Act
    10.2 Alien and Sedition Acts

    US Army tech-tree

    Buildings
We create new building chains in order to let you have to choose. You can no longer simply build up to 5 different chains in the cities and choose between a few possibilities for the towns. Now there are much more possibilities with their strengths and weaknesses.
Further many new building models where created an Hannover and London have their unique city model.
    City models
    Here is Hannover:

    And here London:

    Historical Characters
Many many have been added and many will be added in the future. Furthermore you can now recruit historical generals, admirals, gentleman and envoys (yes the former rakes are envoys now because they always where diplomats and spy's in one). They will have the correct portraits.

Default Re: Rise of the Republic v 1.1 Preview

    Hello,

At first I want to appologise from the annoying campaign crash. The good news is, I found the bug and fixed it so the campaign will be stable again. There were just 2 entries in the AI tables in the startpos.esf wrong and this caused the AI searching in a Region for an army where the army was not. This caused the R 6025 runtime error.

Furthermore I corrected all uncorrect textures which were reported in the hope that all have been found. I addition GB and France can now recruit tradeships and the US can now expand their ports and plantages.

In addition the enddate for the 6 done factions have been fixed to 1803.

Special thanks to MAIAN and Switz for many hours of testing and helping me find the bug!

In addition I did a bit more than just fixing bugs, I though that I give you a bit more. The result are 2 new elite units and many new historical characters.

    New Units
    US Marines

    And onboard a frigate:
42nd Regiment (Britain) the Black Watch

Several new histrical characters are added to the mod

Note that you can recruit characters only at their 20th bithday! So as example Wellesley and Napoléon are only recruitable in the year 1789 and not before. If you try to recruit them before that date the portraits will not be correct. In general I tried to create a sequence in which you can recruit all characters with their correct portrait but this can not be guaranteed!

This might be possible but I don't know. Recruitment and upkeep costs are not balanced for 40 unit armies but I don't see an obvious conflict.
    Just try it.

In my campaign development for IS, the game will be able to play with 40 units. The balancing is still in development.

Congratulations, on the future release of what was a wonderful mod for ETW.

Will there be a mp campaign available? Even if both players have the ETW MP Keys.

I have not played ETW in quite some time but this mod was such a good mod it would be worth it if there was the ability to play the Rise of The Republic Campaign in a mp capability.

Thanks in advance and good luck with the mod.

To your question: sadly I don't know how MP campaigns are working so you have to try after the release. Sorry that I couldn't help you.
