Ummmm.... well lets just get straight to the point. I DL this mod, just to try it out. I follow the detailed installation instructions sticky, word for word. I start the game up, everything works. I start the Grand Campaign as the Brits, and right off the bat, I'M GOING INTO DEBT!

I mean seriously? I can understand wanting to give players a challenge, but having the british empire start off going into debt is not a good thing!!

I mean did I not install something right because I cannot believe that was the intended design of this mod. If so, then well..... Yea haha. Thats like having a newborn baby climb a 100 ft tall wall.

Well if you did read further in the forums then you wouldn't be making this senseless insult now. But let me answer your question.

You control the 13 Colonies. You have a large army there. You could either keep it to get those cherokee territories or disband some of them. Also, disband those useless cannons you get at the start. With the starting money, get your economy up. After a few turns, you can possibly get 5k per turn at the early game. The same thing happens with France and Spain.

Next time, read further.
Why so serious?

yeah. britain is in great need of a revamp and will be looked at in next version. Recommend handing over some regions or grain some money elsewhere....

make trade agreements, Disband useless units, merge your navy into 1 or 2 fleets and start fighting for ships/prize money, and most importantly concentrate your forces into one area dont be afraid to abandon and or give/trade away territories that will take away from your main front. Britain has a big empire, its tricky not to get caught up in trying to defend it all at once in the beginning.

But trust me I am having a GREAT game as GB, its completely achievable its just not as laid out in front of you as it is in vanilla.

Yea I decided this mod wasn't exactly my piece of cake. I don't like impossible difficulty haha. Plus, I like how TAR starts you off in 1783 for the Grand Campaign.

but yea, good job anyways with the mod, it seems like nice quality, but unfortunately not my piece of cake.

OH and this isn't my piece of cake because of all the vanilla BAI and CAI. sorry, vanilla AI SUCKSSSSSSSSSS. Use DarthMods

If you consider IS GB campaign tough compared to one in DM then i would probably steam roll that campaign.

However, I am wondering what differences there are there between the mods, beside unit size/graphic changes of course. Both seem to attempt a "realistic but fun" ETW experience so im wondering where both draw line between the 2.

Main difference? Um Darth Vader. The dude is a genius, and has used that genius to save both M2TW and ETW. Besides graphic changes and unit sizes, the BAI and CAI are DRASTICALLY IMPROVED. Seriously.

Um I suppose its easy enough to say the AI is better or the graphics are better or -insert random feature- is better, but how exactly.

How is the battle/Campaign AI better? By the sounds of it you didn't even play very much IS.

I have never played darthmod (although I hear he's improved the BAI, but that's just hearsay.).
IS's main claim to fame is our uniqueness (also the fact that it's a challange). Every playable nation has it's own, full, completely unique roster! (And some non-playable nations, too.)
Playing as Prussia and Russia, or Austria or Poland or anyone no longer feels the same! Every nation is unique not only in it's units, but in it's playing style. If you try to win the game as the Poles using Prussian tactics, you will get owned. Completely.
Further, IS campaign is a challange. In IS, Hard means Hard. Very Hard means really, really really Hard!

Just to answer the OP, what you are seeing is a bug with the handover script. When the 13 colonies are handed over they get a lot of random units spawned, with the result being a net loss in income. Disband units you don't need, (like the Demi-culverins) and you'll be fine.

I agree Completely.

Because of GB size across the different theaters I decided to go for a full on Navy and its worked wonders.

and I actually have one of the smallest army forces in the game with really only one full stack to guard my NA/SA colonies. Outside of that my Navy keeps me safe, I have all my enemies ports (France, Spain, Maratha) blockaded, with huge Navy stacks in all theaters to meet any threat.

Its currently in the 1750's, and I'm making 50K plus; I control all of the Americas (minus 3 territories owned by Europeans I'd rather not start wars with), I have 10 Trade points with full stacks of Indymen. I basically control the seas, anyone who goes to war with me loses all their trade, their ability to build ships, and whatever holdings they have in the different trade theaters.

I'm GB to the max! and I'm currently creating a HUGE land force to invade India with Scotland and England pumping out full stacks roughly every 2/34 turns. I can't wait for all the epic battles! Imperial Splendour FTW!
