Well basically Iphikratean hoplites belong to a transition period between the hoplite and the phalangites, belonging the last to the timeframe of RS2. Also the helmets look more like Corithian than Calchidian (again wrong timeframe). They still look great in DTW nevertheless.

well , thew spartan officer/general in the 2nd photo has the same helmet model , the dtw one is much older
with a little rework the soldiers would have a better look

i am not so good in 3d work so that would take some time

The Iphikratean hoplites was armed with a spear 3,60 m - 4,20 m long so much longer than a classical hoplite spear (2,40 m) but shorter than a macedonian pike (6-7 m).
They was armed with a linothorax and a tracic helm to give more visibility to the soldiers.
The image of classic-hoplite armed with tureos and macedonian pike it's complitely inaccurate: it's phisically impossible to use a 6-7 long spear with a tureos ;-)
In addition, the same Iphikratean system was obsolete in RS 2 timeframe: phalangites had taken its place!

Thats because he is wearing his grandfather´s helmet, Spartans were very conservative. I had noticed that also.

one more reason to add older models to Spartans
someone should take care of DTW and add more ,,modern'' or RS-ish models

Perfectly valid tactical option though and it's better than using the corner of the map that is cheating

Some of the horses are facing backwards in the bottom right for whatever reason.

It's my general who is falling back, I used him as bait. He couldn't have made a proper charge cos hes was right in the middle. And also mostly due to the rain of javs which followed...

Gallaeci Nice pic, I totally love Gallaeci cavalry
Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."

defending a bridge is a real life option, the corner of the map is not.

Again, it's kind of gamey because of the way the AI handles such situations. Now if u are standing on a bridge with an AI stack on each side boxing u in and attack, that's totally fine of course
