Illirian heavy hoplites seems to me too expensive for mantaining - 2900. Is it intentional?
Great mod, great fun! |

I saw that, but the special buiding doesn't seem to give a naval trade bonus

Yeah I dont see any bonuses either, it just get 1 trade bonus that's it while the military port gives all the ship 1 expericence point.

I have noticed another port-related error, namely that Ostia is available both in Antium and in Roma. So there are two Ostias in my campaign

Oh, yes, and the Epirote generals seem to have either Autonomoi Poleis bodyguards or Epirote bodyguards, or IIRC in one case Saguntine bodyguards (but I'm not sure about the last). I assume this isn't intentional

The text descriptions for the Roman commercial ports (e.g. Large Harbour) still talk about constructing warships and providing their crews, even though that's only possible in War Harbours.
Also, the upkeep of the Pedites Osci infantry unit seems too high. Their stats are between those of Hastati and Principes, but their upkeep is higher than either. Am I just paying through the nose for "very good stamina"? |

Is it just me, or are the units in this mod EXTREMELY graphic intensive? I´ve experienced an enormous performance drop when playing FoE, compared to vanilla or other mods...
You just wasted 4 seconds of your life reading this sentence. You'll read it again because it was so funny and waste another 4. And since you read that sentence, some more disappeared, count this sentence and it's 'nother couple. Good job time waster

Well, yes... But there are more things... The units have 512x512 instead of 256x256 skins which indeed makes them have a bigger impact on your PC. But another thing: in FoE all vegetation GFX levels have been upped by one. So if you use what we in FoE call "low" vegetation settings, then you will actually play with what vanilla RTW calls "medium".
So if you put them (the vegetation settings) next to each other: Code:
RTR VII: FoE - RTW vanilla ------------------------------------------------------------- non-existent - Low Low - Medium Medium - High High - Very High Very High - non-existent |

What decides which of the two second-level "Romanization" options gets offered? Sometimes I capture a city and it shows I can build Civitas Sociorum, sometimes it shows I can build either that or Civitas Sine Suffragio. Is it based on city size?
Edit: PatricianS, thanks for the explanation about vegetation settings! I'm going to go turn mine down now |

Ahhh, that makes sense - thanks.
On a graphics note, I just noticed that the Roman captain of my Hoplomachi Etrusci (i.e. in an 81-man unit, on large unit sizes) has a hole in his middle - the texture for his stomach armor is transparent/missing. And it's spoiling the victory shot, of his unit standing over the fallen body of the the Gallic king [The king heroically besieged a mountain fort on his own, but even 33 heavy cavalry bodyguards don't do much against a nice wall of Etruscan spears!] |
