Ugh. Julii. I admit I was a little bit fascinated by the campaigns of caesar. Plus when I first started I used Scipii and was completely owned by carthage I gave up.

I just finished my first campaign last weekend - as the Scipii. Chose them because, historically, the first war outside the Italian peninsular that Rome fought was against Carthage on Sicily + later Africa. I was disappointed with Carthage being so weak, as well as Numidia, but it got fun when I attacked Egypt and Greece, and of course the Civil War then.

1st campaign with the Brutii
2nd campaign with Carthage. Their units look awesome, especially the Sacred Band (which is the second best phalanx in the game, no?) Combined with SB cavalry, numidian stick throwers and elephants... nice.... 3d campaign with the Britons/British/Whatsthenameagain. Good light units, and at least better than stinking gauls 4th campaign with the Germanics.... Berserker spawniage for the win!! 5d campaign with Greeks. I wanted to play as a weak one-sided faction once...
Sincerely,
KoP |

I agree. The colour red is more appropriate for the Romans, right?

I agree, for some reason it is the red that is associated with the Romans. That is why I was put off with the early RTR mod because they had Romans there with brown and dark brown color of uniforms, shields, etc, and to me it was totally not suitable for the Romans.

Red for Roman? Well yes, and purple for the SPQR dosn't seem a fit either.
If the Brutii was a bit more of a darker green, I'd prefer it. However I've edited my units so some are green, some are red and some are blue |

Considering that only three are availiable to the unmodded game it could be a good idea to add a poll to the thread Steve?
I first played with the Julii but I did not complete the campaign. My first campaign completion came with the Brutii after lots and lots of restarts!

But my thread is not asking, who was the first faction you played with.
Who did you compete it with? |

With the only the three factions availiable at the start (Julii, Brutii and Scipii) suerly people completed a campaign with one of them first before unlocking the other factions/ modding to complete the game as other factions, no?
