One thing I noticed, is that usually battles take place with hills or rough ground basically everywhere. It is the total opposite of 1.5. Too much so I think.

As to the condensed nature of the terrain, I think it helps create much more interesting battles in that these relatively small armies now totally fill up a hillside or valley.

thebull: is it due to where you are currently campaigning? I'm about to try some custom battles to see what general terrain categories look like. Some areas of the world are just completely un-flat!

could you show a low graphic screen tone? i know the whole point is that it is high detail etc but I'll need to turn the graphics down to minimum and I'd like to see how it'll look

Do you mean with everything (grass, vegetation, terrain) set on minimum?

By the way, has anyone noticed the new horse textures? Argent Usher helped us out earlier in the year with some work on them, which Leif has now taken over. You should see the difference on those Dacian Roxolani units above.

that or very low yeah, will it look identical to normal? i don't know if you have to have the settings at a certain level to use the new trees etc
