Hey guys, I wanted to mod my copy of M2TW, and after unpacking with the unpacker and making the .bat file, I couldn't find the 2 time stamped files. also, my "data" directory is empty exept for 5 folders, so i dont think it unpacked properly.

don't drag the folder it's self onto your folders. Drag the files one by one. Then you can be sure your doing it right.

In Folder Options, unhide all hidden and system files and folders. Find tha Sega folder in the virtual store folder.

Cllick start, in the start search box, type folder, in the list above it under programs is folder options. click on it, click on the view tab and about half way down is what you are looking for.

Do you have the UAC on or off?
The two geograhpy files are supposed to be in the c:\program files\sega\medieval ii total war\data. Vista puts them in c:\users\<yourusername>\appdata\roaming\sega\medieval ii total war\data. virtual store was two years ago. My fault.

When I installed Vista, I turned off the UAC before I installed anything. all my files are in program files/sega. go into Computer, up in the right hand corner type geography.

It sounds like you already have them, maybe.
Did you unhide all hidden and system files and folders in Folder options? Did you look in the appdata/roaming folder? Where did you install the game? What is the full path of the game on your computer?

Are you using 64bit Vista?
If so, I only know one way , then. Click on Computer and in the rght hand box type geoegraphy and let it go through your harddrive(s).

x86 is for the 32bit folders and files on a 64 bit system.
One way to find out. Try to fight a custm battle with somebody like English peasants versus French peasants. If you do, they are gone. if you ctd, they are hidden someplace.
