I'll help you out with a step by step guide

Download the following:

The four rar files that contains RM2 itself
RM2 Extra Part rar
RM2 Sprite Addon 1.2
RM2 Hotfix 9

Optional
RM Sound Mod

How to Install:

1. Install RTW and patch it to version 1.5. If you already have it installed make sure it is the Vanilla version without any mods attached to it. RM2 can only be installed on non modded version of RTW.

2. Extract the folders from the four RM2 rar files. Now copy and paste the Data folder and the RomeMedievalMOD folder into the main directory for Rome - Total War, overwriting everything. The destination should look something like this:

E:\Games\Activision\Rome - Total War

Note: My folders are a special case but your RTW folder should be found elsewhere

3. Now extract the folders from the RM2 Extra Part rar. Copy and paste the Data folder and the Rome MedievalMOD folder into the same directory as last time. Click yes to overwrite everything.

4. Next we're going to extract the files from the Sprites Addon 1.2 rar. Copy the Sprites folder and the descr_model_battle.txt from this. Locate the Data folder in the RomeMedievalMOD folder(this is very important!) and paste the copied files from the Sprites Addon 1.2 rar into this Data folder.

5. Now for the Hotfix 9 rar. This is the same as before. Copy the Data and RomeMedievalMOD folder from the Hotfix 9 rar. Paste these two folder into the main directory for Rome - Total War and overwrite everything once again.

6. Optional: Installing the RM2 Sound Mod. Extract the files from the sound mod rar. Copy the Sounds folder and the three txt files. Paste these into the Data folder in the RomeMedievalMOD folder (once again, very important!). The Sound Mod should be installed now.

7. Right, so we are finished we all the copying and pasting. Phew! Take a break and have a ham sandwich. Finished? Let's move on to the final part.

8. This part is very important so I will explain it step by step:

a) Go to the Rome - Total War main directory, right click on RomeTW.exe and create a new shortcut.
b) Next, right click on the new shortcut and select properties.
c) You need to add the following to the end of the "Target" line:

-mod:RomeMedievalMOD -nm -show_err
IMPORTANT: remember to add a space before this

Once finished it should look something like this:
"E:\Games\Activision\Rome - Total War" -mod:RomeMedievalMOD -nm -show_err

e)
The shortcut has now been configured. You can drag this shortcut to the Desktop if you wish. Just remember that when you want to play RM2, you should always launch the game by using this shortcut.

I hope all of that helps. This is exactly the way I installed it. So if you follow it step by step then you shouldn't have any problems.

I would stress that it is very important to paste everything to the appropriate folders and that the destination folders I posted are based on my setup but are probably in a different location for you.

is it just me or the downloads for this mod don't work any more, neither the 1 part nor the 5 part downloads. also did you guys add the starting options from vanilla, mainly the "Manage All Settlements" that I saw missing last time I played this mod. unfortunately I messed up the installation so I need to re-download it, and well I can't... :o

You should PM TOLAROscipii, he might have the installation files. Also, you could pm LOTK, but i think he would first upload RM3 before posting again the RM2 files. Hope it helps.

well, if RM3 will still be for RTW1.5/BI1.6 and should be released somewhat soon than I can wait for that, however if it'll be for Alexander only or will still take a while than I would surely like to try RM2 again

I think the link is working... Try the first link in this post, the one that is a .7z and contains everything:

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=146027

I have just given it a try and it seems it's working ok... Post here again if you have further problems...

ok now it seems to work properly, maybe it was a problem with filedrop or whatever it's called. I do hope however that the "manage all settlements" option has surfaced now after the last patch fixes, and if not than is there a way to fix it myself? I have no idea on how to mod files so a step by step walk through would be needed.

You sure you've change the RTW shortcut target? to "Crogram Files/Activision (or Creative Assembly)/Rome Total War/RomeTW.exe" -mod:RomeMedievalMOD -nm -show_err ???? or to where you put your RTW folder

and bi won't work without modding the files.

Edit: it's "C: P (without space, i don't know how to remove that damn big face)

Well, its too late to add Georgia as the mod is finished. Maybe a submod?

yes I changed the shortcut target, hence I load RM instead of regular RTW... also this mod doesnt work with BI, only vanilla 1.5 so I didnt even copy my BI folder onto my RM folder(on which I overrode the files for the mod)...
