Hail all members of the Total War community
This is a call to arms! We have put up with the horrible Gamespy system for long enough!!

We, as members of the Total War community, as gamers of the Total War series and as members of Clans, we must lobby the powers as thus to change the Multiplayer system!!

A petition has been created in which we should all sign. Once signed we should constantly lobby Gamespy, The Creative Assembly, SEGA, IGN Interactive (supporting of Gamespy) under the control of Fox Interactive Entertainment!! I will send the petition once complete to them and all the voices of thus a community will be heard! No matter how vein it is to try, it is worse not to try.

We need to do something instead of complaining and sitting on our laurels. We need to put pressure on them to do something, release a patch, release something that will fix these constant and horrendous problems!

As customers of these companies, we are supposed to be guaranteed a multiplayer platform in order if we wish to play online, we can with all the vigour to have fun as much as we like. But in this series Total War has failed us.

As Merrick from Arcani clearly illustrates in his saying whence signed the petition:

Working with GS has always been an uphill fight, in a losing battle.

For years this problem has been going on, and Gamespy only has released the bare minimum in improvements; where nearlly every other game has had countless upgrades to their servers for the enjoyment of the multiplayer experience. As Consumers that guarantee is forfeit. MTW2 does not have a stable system to play on! RTW fails miserably in all facets of continuous gaming without troubles.

Many people have left this dear community because of these troubles that we face. Let us be united in voice, let us tell them what we want, for them to solve it.

I got on twice tonight errrr last night 1st attempt. hadn't tryed any of the tricks either. Sooooo, man it would be nice (fingers crossed), maybe they finally heard our grumbles.

Ok buddy, I signed up, hell I'll sign anything.........

I know about 1/2 dozen or more of the guys who've signed up. I see I'm in good company at any rate.

I don't think its gamespys problem as they seem to provide a perfectly fine service for almost every other game that they do, so what i think you should be asking for is a better MP package from CA. The fact of the matter is both games have huge audiences but tiny MP communities and thats probably as its aimed towards SP much more than MP.

I think i read somewhere that ETW will be more MP based than previous TW games. If thats the case (and i am sure it will be as the general trend of gaming is going in the MP direction) i think we will get a better package with this new engine. Also M2TW is based on the Rome engine so thats why the MP was always gunna suck, i never had any problems with GS under M2TW and always found the games balancing and speed to be the rubbish part of the game. Not the GS part of it.

But i guess i will still sign it as i want better MP!!!! :p

Hey Tubbz! Well for me, and alot of people I know, we can't get into the MTW2 lobby at all!! And when I do get into there the games always screw up somehow.

I think though that if CA (which this is also targeted towards) upgrades in some respects the games mp, through server adjustment, re-adjustment and/or patches it will fix the majority of the problems.

At this moment in time, alot of us clans and players in the community have only been arguing about these things; cursing in the lobby about gamespy; itis true it is not gamespy itself it is a corporate business that has many entities, for they should put the subsequent upgrades into there multiplayer games.

If though it is focused on Single Player then they are biasing the multiplayer community. When one purchases a game he/she expects to be guaranteed a multiplayer service, am I correct?

Like I bought mtw2 with thinking that it would be awesome in multiplayer entirely. But this isn't the case.

I am sure something can be improved so that is why I made this petition in order to raise the issue and to send a message to the companies of the Total War series that we're serious about multiplayer and that we want it fixed.

I'm getting in ok, last nite maybe 3 attempts (3 lost connections 3 failed to logins.) Bums me out though thinking we still have a ton (signifying a buttload) of MIA's. I think most clans may be using other servers, not sure, but there are players using them.

Hey all!

I thank everyone who has signed for their support At this stage in time we have 185 signatures and it is growing momentum!!! I still hope more people will come on the baggage train for there is many more signatures to get and I endeavour the day when we get enough signatures to send to other gaming entities in regards to the Total War community and interested in this petition.

If anyone is good at making signatures contact me we need signature makers for this petition. Otherwise I'll do it myself with my dodgy 2 hour needed to make 1 signature making Photoshop skills

Anyway I am still hopeful, so are many of us that this will get it fixed or at least make an impact of some sort

Yes it is true but only some clans are doing that. Hamachi can do the trick. I was talking to many clan leaders and gamers about making a MTW2 Hamachi server and make one computer designed to host it. I have a spare computer that could do the job but I'd have to boost the security to counter hacking and all the other bad stuff.

But it is possible. Hamachi does though conflict with other lobbies such as Rome: Total War and such.

If you have any friends I encourage to tell them about it as well, and yep one can only hope that one day you can actually sign into MTW2 properly.

as far as it getting better, well it's working in non peak hours, yet each time before I get in on the first attempt for the day I've had to reset my gamespy password... but I did get in, mind you during the late evenings CST.

I signed this petition.What I find odd is I can try 20 times in a row to log in vanilla mtw2 mp with no luck and get on 1st try with kingdoms, stainless, retro. :hmmm:

Yes I agree Everyone must come together in order to get this up. Otherwise Multiplayer will be doomed forever. 230 Signatures are wonderful, but I doubt with even that they will just look down at it, for they would say they sold "this many copies" and only 230 pple are complaining.

I encourage everyone to spread the word!! Please! I've been to nearlly every embassy in the TW community. I'm making a movie today of The Life of a Roman General, and will have a message of gamespy to fix it.

Maybe that will appeal and get more people's attention?

I really don't want to discourage your efforts any effort is good. But seriously anything other than emailing CA/Sega/Gamespy and posting on the official forum probably isn't going to get taken too seriously. I don't mean to be negative, I wish the problem would just get fixed too, but these petitions aren't the proper method of escalating the issue to the people who are going to take the time to read your our complaint. The petition can easily be doctored for one. If you want to represent do it through your user names on the TW forum and through your gamespy id.

It isn't GS fault. NTW and ETW are out , They also have MP problems Failed to join game, No respond from hosts is a common error It has to be those who make the MP system thats need to be fixed. I hope it will be fixed soon

Med 2 works fine, if you have problems logging on or connection to games, then that is a problem on your end.
