1st Person Medieval game?!?!?!?!

Im looking for a good first person medieval warfare game. Ive got Mount and Blade and im after something similar, just done on a grander scale. I had heard of a game due to be released that fits this decription but cant remember the name. You basically live the life of the character. If your scared in a battle if effects your life and tasks you can undertake. You can lose a limb etc. Id prefer a game that doesnt require it to be played online like warcraft and the such like.

Does anyone know of any games around that could be of interest either currently released or due sometime in the near future? I own a PC and a playstation 2 so post for either.

No. oblivion requires no monthly payments. At least I should have recognized some since release. There is no monthly payment fee.

totally stand alone fun, very personalized too if you take the time to sculpt the character. It's a lot of fun regardless

I thought everyone knew everything about Oblivion lol. No it's definately not a MMORPG! Probably the best bet for a free flowing Medieval style game. You already played Mount and Blade so you know about that. Thief Deadly Shadows (Thief 3) is pretty good too but more of a mission based game. Depends what you're after. Two Worlds has just been released and that's a Fantasy RPG but the player reviews I've read haven't been very complimentary. I'd also avoid Gothic 3 - terrible buggy game. Might and Magic Dark Messiah isn't bad. That's a 1st person RPG but not a non linear game like Oblivion.

This game called Runescape is a good MMORPG, alot more free-flowing then other things, no roles or anything, just do what you want, everything from adventuring and killing people to making your own armor and weapons-

EDIT-also there are thousands of people that play- up to 2000 people in each world- they have tons of manuals and maps, quests, battle magic, construction maigc, and more, also its pretty fun to build your own house

EDIT2-I know you said you didn't like fanatasy, but fantasy is a minor part of this game, but it is still a tone, you start off with things like steel but the higher you get you unlock more things such as Mithril and Runite, and the freeplay area is massive with many skills and activites, and over 3 times as much in the members areas
