Illegal immigrants? I'd say what goes around comes around.
Illegal immigrants? I'd say what goes around comes around.
The politicians and mostly everyone in this thread are so out of touch with this situation. Its ridiculous.
sorry im late on defending myself. i dont think i EVER EVER said i had a problem with immigrants. i thought i was very clear that i have a problem with ILLEGAL immigrants. and yes, almost all illegal immigrants r comming from the latin american countries. i have no problem with legal immagration. where i work almost 70% of the workers r immagrants from latin american countries, and all r legal. my problem does not lie with race, it lies with how people get here.
if there was a mass illegal immagration problem with people from any other country, i would have the exact same stance. do not get on here and call me a racist when u have absolutely nothing else to add.
i also stand by Lord Gruffles in calling out .victor. to elaborate on his comment. obviously lord gruffles has a valid stance having lived for a long time in california, he has seen alot of the situation. i myself live in houston, texas, and i too have seen first hand the situation of illegal immigration.
@gruffles. i wish i could find a source on here that talked about wat i said about kissing the ground. there was a show a while ago about a man who's father immigrated from europe to america sometime in the early part of the 1900s. the movie was basically about the sacrifices made inorder to make it here. at the end of the movie when the guy finally lands at elis island, he kissed the gound. the director of the movie origonally didn't want to put it in because he thought it was too egotistical on the side of america, but the son said "no, that is really what these people really did."
i also remember during the latest winter olympics, there was a russian(im pretty sure he was russian) who had recently become a citizen in america, and was skating for the americans. he was being interviewed because he had just won the gold medal in pairs skating, and almost the only thing he could talk about was how happy he was to finally be an american.

american has always gotten its strength from the melting pot of cultures. immigrants come and adapt to our way of life and in so doing add on with their cultural strengths. however alot of the anger comes from mexicans who seem to be uninterested in adapting or "melting" in with the rest of us. it almost feels like to me as though we are being invaded much like rome, by hordes who just want to settle our lands and claim them for their own. there is a huge difference between the mexican immigrants in general and those from other nations, this is the issue here.
that and i shouldnt have to press 1 all the time to hear english on the phone. i HATE PRESSING 1! it takes time away that i could be spending with my family.
that is how i feel, if u want to come to america, come because u want to be an american. and that goes for anybody going to any country. if i moved to germany, i could easily get away with speaking english since its the biggest language in the world, however, since i would be living in germany, i would learn the german language, and learn their customs.
again, none of this is straight up anti-immigration, but issues with out certain people go about doing it.

When I see immigrants come over, I want to think "Wonderful Potential American Neighbor," not "Illegal Parasitical Scum."
In that case may I know how do you plan to learn to be able to speak German well if you had to work 12 hours every day and by the time you got home all you could think of was getting some rest after a hard labor? Trust me, every new immigrant actually wants to be able to speak the language of the new land they are living in.

Ive said it before and Il say it again, in the case of Mexican migrant workers or illegal aliens thats just not true.
They don't want to be here in the first place, they would rather be at home making good money, but they cant because of the state of their country. They would rather come here and blame us instead of trying to make things better at home by demanding change.
Its not the same as hunter makoy immigrating to Germany unless hunter makoy felt that whatever country he was immigrating from owned Germany before the Germans and that Germany was undermining his home country.
Ive pretty much spelled out the economic issues in Mexico in a previous post, and I'm sure we can all agree thats why we have such a immigration problem. Its wasn't a opinion so much as fact, but once again people don't seem to read posts before posting and this has dissolved into a pissing contest.

Why do we need illegals to stay in this country based on skill?First of all they shouldn't have been here in the first place (hence "illegal") and second, we could've had AMERICANS doing those jobs had it not been for them.Giving illegal immigrants citizenship does absolutely nothing for us except raise our population, if they want to be citizenship then they need to go home and get in line like the rest of their law abiding countrymen. Why should we grant citizenship to someone who was willing to brake the law?Back to how this doesn't help the US IMO.Granting them citizenship means that they need to get paid like every other citizen right (real pay)?Well guess what, we now have increased costs because of this and a lot of the arguments I hear against deportation are because "it would mess up the economy".Either that will happen or the farmers, contractors....etc will go and hire more illegals leaving us with a bunch of people who have "skills" but cant use them so plenty will end up on welfare...woo hoo >.> and we will be talking about immigration reform again in 20 years.
I would rather pay more for stuff now, with citizens doing the jobs as opposed to paying more later when we have 12+ million extra people in the country doing stuff that could've been done without them.We should build a fence first, then pressure employers with ridiculous fees and prison time (the government needs to actually follow through this time) so that they eventually hire citizens, then when we have enough citizens working those jobs we can boot out all the remaining illegal immigrants and they can go manipulate their own government's system which shouldn't be hard since they've managed to screw this one up....Or they can come back and ask for a green card to work here.Seriously, if your country sucks then try to fix it instead of migrating somewhere else and ruining it for others.
We also don't know how many of these people are here for genuine reasons.I wonder how many are here that have absolutely no interest in this country and are only concerned with monetary gain....I don't want those people as fellow citizens.

who do u know working 12 hour days? by the way, there's no reason y i couldn't learn it BEFORE i went over there, as most people do.
EDIT: btw, i do not trust u that every new immigrant wants to learn the language. one of the guys i know who runs a large landscaping service here and he has alot of hispanics that dont speak much english (legal by the way, incase ur wondering) he offers to not only pay for them to take english classes, but pay them an extra $0.50 to $1 an hour extra in pay after they finish the class. i guess u expect them to be on their way to class right? nope, EVERY SINGLE ONE REFUSED. not because of the hard work they do (not anymore then any other working american), but simply because they dont want to do it. and im not just infering this, that is the actual excuse given by many of them.

bump for a good thread, and to continue the call out for .victor to back up his baseless claim.

The poor huddled masses yearning to breathe free ARE your skilled laborers.
Who works harder than someone who is poor, someone who is willing to leave behind culture, country and sometimes family to crawl through sewers and over barbed wire fences to....*gasp*....work!
Oh the horror, theyre coming over to work for us. Load your shottys and ready the grenades.
P.S., thank you mexicans, for cutting my huge lawn every week for a measly $20 so I dont have to.
I have seen hundreds of people say immigrans steal jobs yet not one that claims an immigrant has actually stolen their job.
So if you

That a muffin presupposes a baker,
So you must agree sooner or later,
That this proves that there's a creator.
So if I put my foot in a stinker,
You'd assume the existence of a sphincter,
Thus you don't need to be a great thinker

Since when are skilled immigrants the ones we want? They are the ones who will actually take jobs from Americans for less money. I mean I know at least where I live there are a lot of foreign doctors who really aren't as qualified as an American one would be, yet they are the ones with the jobs.
I know several people in the medical industry who couldn't get a job because of the large amounts of immigrants in the field.
yet not one that claims an immigrant has actually stolen their job.
yes, its simply a fact that many jobs have gone to immigrants.
but earl i disagree with u, i would much rather have a skilled worker who can give something back, then just some other person who draws from welfare and doesn't give anything back.
oh and btw RZZZA, who actually works harder in getting here, the person who climbs over the fence, or the person who fills out all the paper work and stands in line and goes thru all the right channels to get over here legally?
ill give u a hint, its the second person.
