Thread: Multimedia

    Default Multimedia

The university idea is interesting, haven been unsuccessfully pursed twice so far, but interesting. I was wondering if there was any way to set up full multimedia galore, that way learning over the net could truely become effective, having "lessons" posted on forums is eh, I mean, one could simply wiki the topic at hand, no?

So I'm thinking video conferences, voice or video recordings, 1 on 1 teacher - student walkthroughs.

These possibilities are completely within the remit of the professors teaching each course. At the end of the day it is up to them - I agree though, it would be good to have a mixed media class setting.

I would also just like to add that I'm more than interested in both classes currently described.

You do realize this thread is two years old. And General Sun has been gone for almost a year now. Right?

On top of that, for the first mapping class I had I handed out a Teamspeak server address to over 30 people. Not one ever used it.

I think multimedia could be the key to revitalize interest. But what do I know?

Well I'm thinking about private youtube instructor videos that can be quized here at TWC. That would give people motivation to actually hear their instructor at their convenience. That way there's no scheduling conflicts. Everyone agrees to a deadline for class work and that's that. In between you can study the video, ask question about it in the forum or hold class events.
