My coastline doesnt look like it should...

Can anyone help me here? I have a problem, and Im not sure whether its a game setting or if its a problem in ground_types.tga. Have a look:
This is what I would like my coasts to look like (with the whole 'wave' idea going):


However, my coasts come out looking bland and not 'wave'-like, like this instead:



Anyone got an idea what it is?

Did you add beach as ground type for the corresponding tiles?

Not in those areas specifically, but in other parts of the map where it should have showed up it didnt. They just look the same as the areas without beach.

This is very similar to the vanilla map, right?
Maybe there's something about the alignment of the wave meshes. Does it happen everywhere on your map or only in certain areas?

It happens on the whole map, and yes, its a similar map to vanilla. Ive also tested the vanilla map again, but the coasts dont come up like they should either! And no, uninstalling hasnt helped me.
So either its a game setting or..?

Are you using a mod folder or file_first?
Try my modfolder installer (I can confirm that that works fine for me): http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=76099

If that doesn't generate good coastlines for you there's something weird afoot

There certainly is something weird afoot - I did not use the modfolder at all, I was running vanilla from the default part. Um.. what can I do?

Uninstall the game, delete all files and reinstall, if that doesn't work, reinstall windows

If you do find out how to turn waves on or off I'd like to know.
