is there a default time for the Seleucid reforms? like late 200s early 100s?
I can't help but destroy the Parthians as they only have 2 towns with know walls (of course I do let them attack me first) but in like 5 turns they haven't got an army to defend there illegitimate kingdom and the other two are suing for peace constantly so why did they side with Parthia bosh that'll teach you lol sorry went of on a tangent then
No set default date for the kataphract reforms. The reason being, if what army you have is able to defeat kataphracts, why would you adopt them?
How do the Cataphract Reforms kick in? I've had several generals receive intentional crushing defeats from Pontus and Armenia and I don't have them yet.
"I used to eat people, but now I'm full."
Loosing with Pontos won't help you, because they don't own cataphracts. The best aim is Pahlava, in EB1.1 they are very well scripted and attack Antiochia Margiane consistently.
What is most important you should loose with an army which includes cataphracts, at least 2 or 3 units. Make 2 armies with 1 general, 1 weak infrantry, 2 skirmishers(it's about 800 men). Loose with an army containing a few units of cataphracts, then move your intrigued by kataphraktoi generals to towns. From my experiences it is best to send one to the town where you are able to field cataphracts( I mean in a barrack list).
In my campaign I sent one of my generals to Baktria, second one to Antiochia(proper barracks) from Antiochia Margiane(quite a long trip). It was worth it, after 2 turns reforms kicked in. And of course it must be at least 253BC.
Waiting for Europa Barbarorum II...
I love Medieval Total War.
safe one for that tip yo I started a experimental campaign to see what happens when you loss the frist war agast the Parni and let the pathians rebel lol then smashed Ptolemy II Philadelphus around abit I'm in the prosses of anxing Aisa Minor waiting for pathia to send an army or two with cataphracts in I get back two on this in a few days as its ten more turns till 253 bc lol safe
Not exactly. If the March of Time event (the vanilla Marian reforms, triggered by the Romani building an Imperial palace in one of their home provinces except Rome) occurs, the Macedonains will get a Hysteroi Pezheteiroi unit. However, they won't be able to recruit the original Pezhetairoi (and Argyraspides?) anymore.
it worked but then my computer fliped out and had a panick attack it isn't very well now =[
For the Konion Hellenon is it possible to get more generals with Spartan Bodyguards other than the ones found from turn one?
hmm..... nice FAQ
No there isn't a specific code, and the easiest way to get the reform trigger is
to send over a diplomat using move_character code, bribe a city, use add_population + process_cq to build it up to a huge city.
Then leave no troops in the city and wait until the Romani take it back
The commands are:
process_cq city
add_population city number
move_character "firstname lastname" coordinate x, coordinate y
to find the coordinate of your target location, hover your cursor over it and enter the command: show_cursorstat
and if a character has a middle name, treat it as part of the last name for the move_character code
e.g
"Phormion Mylason Karikon"
becomes
"Phormion Mylasonkarikon"
