I also have a question: what is the difference between Corsair Invasion and Forth Eorlingas? I installed FE (which is great btw, haven't had much time to play it, but campaign map and immersion is already super), but not CI. I suppose Corsair Invasion is an earlier version and Forth Eorlingas contains all of its content?

Yes to both. CI is old and FE contains all of what is in FE

Yes, you can play it on Gold but make sure you have a BI 1.6 version and not 1.4 (check the Options in-game and see what appears in the top corner of the screen). The 1.6 SEGA patch is needed if it's 1.4 - and I think that information is in the installation instructions or related posts if you were to look
