Music makes a world of difference in atmosphere.

Play this as you see the screenshots, though stills do not do it justice. I couldn't capture the great moments where the Khorasanis got into an ungodly melee with the Afghans, blood splattering about, shouts and screams as spear blade and pole met axe and wooden shield, all before the Cataphracts, as the music file denotes, were unleashed.

You should definitely include the skymod in BC. Awesome screenshots Ahiga, I love the Afghan units.

The music is interesting, it's like middle eastern metal, lol

We'll be going for a mixture. Nothing will be over the top contemporary (like, modern day rock or something. ) but there will be battle tracks that are obviously not done with just folk instruments, and there will be some strat map music that is the same. I was getting pretty irritated listening to nothing but folk music for Khwarezm and the Abbasids, and I actually like that stuff, so I'm sure the average player will also need some 'thematic' music of the culture, not just stuff indigenous to it.

Bad news Folks. By order of the Sultan (Peace be upon him and his descendants), we're going to have to omit the Kypchaks. If we do not, all shall Apostate from God and join their heathen ranks.

I kid, but these guys were wicked to play as in a brief 1v1v1v1 battle. I skimped out on using horse archers, but I should have omitted my spearmen (who did nothing) for them. Still, it was the lancers that did unbelievable damage, and gave me a truly epic fight.

I have to go, so one screenshot will suffice for now.

From much later in the battle, as I finished off the 3 armies. The ghaznavid bowmen proved a pretty dangerous foe, outpacing my lancers handily.

There is a reason for that.. we're actually working on remeshing the KoJ and later on the Armenians and Georgians. Since we want to bring them up to par in terms of quality with the rest of the units.

I actually posted tonnes of KoJ battle screens in the KoJ thread.

But since you asked I will have a KoJ vs Armenia battle tonight, save the replay and hopefully have some nice screens for you by tommorow.

Once the Meshes are done I'm hopping over to the KoJ for quite awhile. Tomorrow I'll be trying to get the book that covers the creation of Kingdom of Heaven, assuming it's cheap and it has a good amount of concept art. We don't need it too much because concept art has been abundant, but more will certainly help, and I love the art design they went with in the Movie.

I vote to not include the blood mod, I'm playing Stainless Steel right now and it's the only thing that REALLY bothers me. They get hit by a sword and are immediately covered in blood like somebody dumped a bucket full on them.

I think a little bit of blood could actually make the battles more realistic.

Yup. Their name is still floating about, but that's their elite. The spears in the back if memory serves is their elite lancers, but it may be their nobles.
