@Qarama: Are those two spelling really that different? Are they pronounced differently? Laodicea is what most sources spell it as.

Great stuff. Adana's port should be located where Ayas stands, but I'm not sure if it's already there. I just remembered I was meaning to say that somewhere.

    Are the desert regions unconquerable?

LOL. I didn't realize that there was a major spelling error.

On the game map its actually "Laodicea". Sorry about confusion. Thanks Qarama and Ermeni!

    i'll do it anyway
the MOD starts from 1175 right? so i will start from 1070 onwards.

    1070
turks were seen the first time in Denizli (Laodikeia)

    1077
    turks conquer the City

    1097
    byzantines conquer the City back

    1102
Kilich Arslan I. the Seljug Sultan conquers Denizli

    1119
    back to Byzantines

    1148
    crusaders went through Denizli

    1190
Frederik Barbarossa and his crusader army march through Denizli

    1207
    turks conquer the city again

    1288
the city is now under the Germiyanogul beylik (principality)

    1300-1368
    reign of the İnançogulları

    1368
    again to Germiyanogulları

    1391
    Denizli in Ottoman hand

    1403
Amir Temur (after he was victorious against Bayezit) gives the City back to the Germiyanogul beylik

    1429+
    Ottoman again

[i have translated this information from turkish into english just for you ]

in 1190 the second crussades started and the crussader army from Frederik Barbarossa was attacked many times by the turkish tribes who have settled in that region and left their yurts (tents) and went to the mountains.

in 1257a garrison of Byzantines came to the City but they couln't stay long there because their were many turks. And in that Time period the turks wanted help (commander/ General) from the Ilkhanates Ruler Hulagu Khan and he has sendet a General called Kulsak.

afaik the real (antique) name is Laodicea but you can also just rename it to Denizli or in old turkish Tengizli

the word Denizli means with sea it's meaning comes from the water which is alot in that area (but denizli is not at the sea)

Afettin Zemdi who has written Amir Temurs victorys for example talked about the City as Tenguzlug but Tengiz or Tenguz is an old turkish word which means sea.

I'd rather not call it by its Turkish name - the Byzantines control it as you can see. But thanks for all the info!

    you are welcome
I thought that it is ok to call that area Denizli or Tengizli because the turks conquered the city in 1077 and the mods starts 100 years later.
But ok you are the chief.

    Good work !

Hmm all those rivers... restrict movement of cavalry. Considering the size of the provinces this should not be a problem. This is a phenomenal work.

I've used rivers as both a "decoration" (makes map look more natural) and also utilized them as choke points.

Outrageous ! For the first time I will play in a videogame, on locations at which my ancestors settled. No words can do justice to the work you've done here.
