Holy crap, those people are just too much.
Seriously, do they want just a clone or something ??
Seems like they are entirely against anything slightly new to the game.
Can't they just play FO2 if they are so happy with it ??
These are the type of fans that devs really should avoid listening too and it seems like they aren't listen to them either.

Now I'm not a big FO fan. I love the idea behind it and the setting but haven't been happy with the games.
FO1 had that annoying time limit which I didn't like and I hate RPG games where you have to read the text. I like audio please. It helps with the RP.
FO2 was a bit better but keeps crashing and I really dislike the turn-based combat. It was ok in FO1 but FO2 I really wished they would have progressed away from that.
Hopefully with FO3 they will get things right.
Just the start of the game sounds just awesome.

From what I can tell, this looks like it's going to be every bit the sequel we could hope for. It's embracing modern technology, without sacrificing the turn based feel of the original. The level of interaction outside of combat, as well as the overall immersion will by magnified immensely by the FP perspective. The only niggle I have is that the game world is going to be more in the Oblivion format, rather than the random encounters/ map based game world.

If you think they are bad you should see the official bethesda forums. Christ, every thread is some fallout fanboy complaining and whining. And if there is a thread that isn't complaining about something the fanboys hijack the thread and start complaining in it. Its turned me off completely. And if they aren't complaining about stupid stuff they are complaining about the game coming to consoles. Saying its being dumbed down and that the age group of the game will be 12-15 year olds. I can't stand that crap, as an avid console and PC gamer who is a university grad I don't understand why they have insult people that want to try and enjoy the game, no matter what platform its on.

OH MY GOD anyone who complains about what they have done with fallout 3 is just being silly-- It sounds like they are really trying to outdo themselves with the time and attention to detail they are putting in--- the game is going to take place in the ruins of washington and will have oblivion style locomotion (1st and 3rd person view) but the blended turn-based combat sounds soooo good;-- they are bringing dogmeat back they just wont say how

200 years later OMG -- im definitely counting fallout 3 as my most anticipated game (besides do you know how much it will be modded? omg players will make the place 10x as big as it starts out)--- I must spend the time until fallout 3 on meditation and contemplation of the mystery of fallout.

These people defy belief. I've read the information on those scan and it looks to be absolutely FANTASTIC. It's more appealing than anything I'd imagined - and these ******* on that forum...THEY are the pre-War equivalent of the radioactive ghoul-slime that festers and creeps about the Wasteland. What a bunch of jerks.

I think people will have to accept its going to be a new approach to the game, and it seems like the people doing the game are fans too so wouldn't want to ruin it. Also think they might take this more seriously than Oblivion in some ways, the game will have an adult rating I don't doubt so can stick to the core values of the original games.

On a side note any fans of FPSs might want to look at STALKER as there are plans for a Fallout mod for it.

Whiny fans? Get out of here!

This is what I don't get is these new trendy players running around and drooling all over, they never liked Fallouts and never cared about them. Sure played for an hour or so and that's it, most of em probably never completed games more than once. I'm not preacher or spokesman I don't speak for thousand here, but it seems to me that posters at NMA love Fallouts and most parts of it. And why, why should they want something completely else? Why should they want Oblivion with guns? Why? Why in the hell when Fallouts are best RPGs ever released? Why should they want changes in the core gameplay of those games, which is turn based combat and over top camera view?

Really, whiny are those who don't even try to understand. They whine about something they don't understand and wish to be part of it and understand what is it all about. When I read posts at NMA I see most posts with opinions and opinions that are backed up mostly with their own taste of the Fallouts.

But all this doesn't matter anymore Beth will rape and milk out Fallout franchise as much as they can. Fallout 3 Expansion is on the way. Look at the games Beth has developed, they don't have the talent to develop their own games with unique worlds and stories. That is why they had to buy Fallout franchise, so that they can use the story of it and mimic the look and atmosphere.

Fallout 3 will be nothing more than Oblivions enchased engine with Fallout like skins.

Fallout 2 is literally my favorite game OF ALL TIME. I love it more than any game I have ever played. And yet, I can still look forward to this game, and think it looks great so far. I would be branded "not a real fan" at NMA, just because I enjoy the game differently then they do, and don't worship it as if it was the perfection of gaming.

And I know "Oblivion with guns" is a trendy catchphrase for these guys, but other than the engine, and the fact that they both have good graphics, I'm not seeing that much in common. Please explain it to me. Oblivion had scaling enemies, FO3 will not. Oblivion has skill usage level up, which encouraged jumping everywhere you go and casting the same spell constantly while you walk around. FO3 has XP based leveling which encourages fighting tough enemies and doing quests. There are a half dozen things I could get into, but other than the graphics (which are great) I can't see how you could read the whole article and think it is similar to Oblivion.

These guys whine and cry and say "That's it, I'm not buying this." You would think that would make them give up on it and not discuss FO3 anymore, but no, they wait a week for when another bit of information comes out, they whine some more, and state again; "That's it, I'm not buying this."

You know that when the game comes out they will get it, just so they can whine and cry about how bad it is. It's too much fun to whine and cry for them not to.

    You don't say.
Mean one of them won't buy the game because the character's suit has pockets.

I can't believe the depth of feeling on this thread. Since Fallout 3 has been announced It's like someone replaced people's childhood memories of getting a bike on their tenth birthday with being attacked by a paedophile riding a giant earwig. I'm almost glad I haven't played any of the Fallouts.

People are believing what they want to at such an early stage it's daft.

They will buy it and hopefully they will love it (and so will I... hopefully). But rest assured, every last one of the naysayers will buy the game - if they haven't pre-ordered it already.

If you think Fallout 1/2 is the zenith of gaming, WHY DO YOU NEED A SEQUEL??
Just ignore Fallout3 and stop this doom-saying dammit.
This type of doom-saying with sophisticated, intelligent phrases such as "Oblivion with guns" not based on reality is getting on my nerves.

Can someone please tell me exactly why Bethesda are the devil spawn? Ok I've not played their entire catalogue of games but Morrowind was an excellent example of a free roaming rpg, and Oblivion seems to be getting most the stick for only a couple of concepts in the game which I'm sure will be rethought in future titles.

I do just wish all these people who don't want to make any changes to the original Fallout would just make a massive mod or something. Is it better not to have another Fallout game than to have a bad one that might revive interest?

Im highly confident that Bethesda will release a modders paradise tool so that fallout 3 can be expanded as long as players love it.

so my hopes remain very high for this game that is sadly very far off
