While some of the new factions are very strong at the beginning , burgundy surely not ... as a little and relatively weak central european state burgundy can rely only on standard feudal troops for many years and even later his armies will not differ so much from the one of France for example .
So the aim of the Burgundy duke will be exploit his faction economically to have the best troops in central europe but his weakness on the field will be the same of the other states . To be different it have to rely on mercenaries , and english and italian mercenaries are eager to work for who pay well ....
The position is very dangerous , in the middle of three powerful kingdoms , diplomacy and fighting (and winning) the right battles at the right moment will be the key .
-Units ... Burgundy have the classic central european array of troops , even if the cavalry is more predominant like in France .. only with pikemen and mercenaries burgundy can hope to have a strong body of infantry while crossbowmen and archers are pretty good .
Mercenaries will be avaiable in the form of italian MAA and english longbowmen , boh very useful indeed .
The passion of Burgundian rulers for gunpowder is reflected in the unit list , and their arsenal of guns is impressive .
And if you want a shiny army of well dressed troops well ...burgundy is your choice ...
