    Default Rohan/diplo question

    Hello all.
DLed FE yesterday and enjoyed it very much. You did a great job!

Here's my question: It feels kind of wrong, that Gondor backstabs Rohan as soon as it is at peace with Rhun and Harad. Is there any possibility to change the diplomatic stance between Rohan and Gondor?
Since savegame editing is not applicable and the diplomatic cheats do not work, I do not know what to do.

    Notger.

This has been discussed to death on our forums. The game is about total war (one of the reasons we chose the Fourth Age) and that's just the way it is.

Not much we can do about it anyway. However, any solution to make Rohan and RK stay at peace a little longer is always welcomed.

I am sorry to have posted a already discussed question.
It seems I haven't searched well enough.

Again: very good work, thanks for that!
Recreating the Pelennor fields charge is just plain fun.

I noticed this too and its the only thing i disliked about FE. Perhaps you could do something like the old Roman factions, like whenever you try to attack Rohan as RK it would say "You do not have enough support with the people." I have no idea if this would work or not but its all i got....

We have enough modding acumen to have thought about this already and some time ago - and, had we not, the other half dozen times we have been told about it would have jogged our memory.

Rest assured, we have looked into such basic things already.

Hey man, no need to be snide. I'm no modder and just reinstalled the game so i wouldn't play it during finals. I comment on what i see, besides this little nit picky thing your mod is without a doubt the best BE mod ive ever seen.

Thank you HBI, we aim to be the best - but please realize we have people saying a lot of the same things over and over again to us and it can wear the best of us down. Apologies nevertheless.

Glad you enjoy the game...ah, you're gonna like 2.0

yeh i played rohan, on my first turn, took the entire garrison of rohan to fight the dunlending army, 600 rohirric soldiers( mostly infantry) vs 700 dunlendings, lost and got my dwaves massacred...

i'm in no mood for orc-slaying

what were you doing without horse, i always send all my horse against them first, ride them down and you will slay their first 3 armys easy, then use your infantry to attack their nearest settlement. and so on.

Rohans infantry wont stand against the better units from Dunland.

save all your infantry for assaulting their settlements, just use all your horse in one big cavalry army, if you send all your horse from all your settlements, to make i big stack they will ride down anything Dunland can muster in the first few turns, once all their innitial armys have gone (there are usually 3 large-ish stacks) move your infantry to the first settlement, keep your horse army close by incase they send re-inforcements, the only problem you will have is keeping a large garrison until the religion change is complete.
on the west of your homelands there are some great choke points at river crossings, which you can garrison in forts on your side of the river, that way you can only be attacked by one force at a time (usually) That way if RK do attack you have longer to marshall your defences.once you have conquered all of dunland you can look towards the east, or south if RK have betrayed you.
