Thread: Extracting media files?

  1. #1

    Default Extracting media files?

I remember for RTW there was a program or something that extracted all the media files (in-game cinematics, music, etc.) where you could watch and listen to all of them whenever you wanted. Is there a similar program that works for MTW2? I remember getting it off this website too. Is it illegal? Or avalable? Thanks.

The first official patch has an unpacker tool included.

It does? I did download the patch. I'll check the zip file.

I extracted them but how do you convert them to a media player? I want to convert all of them to MP3's like RTW. How can I do that?

Think as well as the unpacker you still need the same tool you used in RTW - Vercengetorix's XIDX extractor see here for how to do that. Also see this guide which seems to imply they are already in .mp3 format (once extracted).

I did that but I can't figure out how to convert .bik files in the FMV folder to viewable media files such as Windows Media? Is that possible?

Well I downloaded the converter but the directions only got me to convert the music files to MP3. I'm trying to convert the movie files which I can't because there are no directions. Are the directions the same? I applied the same packing program to the FMV file but nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?
