Default It's not working for me

Well I dl 1.2 patch and everything works fine.

Then I installed SS 3.0 and Hotfix. I get to the first loading screen SS 3.0 with Hotfix for MTW 2 with 1.2 patch and Ka-Boom! CTD! Crash everytime. No message, just desktop. No Mod for me, just pain.

    Hi Sir Nicholas,

are you sure that you've pointed the installation path (of both, the SS3.0 and the SS3.0 Hotfix files) to the correct folder?
After the installation you should have this folder structure:
    .../Medieval II Total War/Stainless_Steel/data/...

I see no other reason for this crash.

My instalation went to the main folder D:Games/MTW.
Should I go to the data folder? Like this D:Games/MTW/data?

When you've installed Medieval II in D:Games/MTW then this is the correct installation path.
Accordingly, your folder structure after the installation should look like this:
    D:Games/MTW/Stainless_Steel/...

I hope this will help you somwhow...

You could also post me the last lines of your system.log file, right after you had the crash...

I had the same problem. I did a fresh install of M2TW, then installed the 1.02 patch and then installed Stainless 3.0 and its hotfix. Worked fine.

However, shouldn't the SEGA directory be in the installation path, King? If it's not, he could be installing SS 3.0 into its own folder and not M2TW's. Just my two cents.

To make sure, just set the install path in the installer to desktop, then drag and drop the folders into the proper Medieval Total War II directory (wherever you have that).

I decided to play vanilla till the official 1.2 patch comes out. Then I'm going to erease every bit of MTW 2 and install it again and then try SS 3.0 if it's going to be compatible with the official 1.2 patch.

No, I did not install 1.1 first. I installed M2TW, then patch 1.02 and then Stainless 3.0 followed by the Hotfix. Hope it works for you.

    Hi Badnewz,

you are really sure that you have a working 1.2 patch installed?
Well, if you have, you may try what Wolfgrin did. I'm pretty sure this should work...

And also as Wolfgrin mentioned, make sure that you point the installation to the correct folder:
normally: Program Files/SEGA/Medieval II Total War.
My installer points normally to Program Files/Medieval II Total War.
