The Arrival
The journey was long and hard, we've lost mans by hundreds.
We had lost a complete ship and just a few men could been saved.
On the 22.04.1500 a jealing shout got threw our ears:
"Lands! Holy father in the glorius heaven! There're lands in front of
our ships!"
The men began to scream and to celebrate and to pray.
A few hours later we did land:
Cabral watched our landing:
We built up a fort on a plateau, backed by some little mountains:
Everyday we did search, but we did neither find population nor gold.
On the evening of the 3. May I was set as watch in our fort, as suddenly the goal watch shouted:
"See! There're men on the way! Open the gate!"
"What are these?"
"They're no humans! See, they were blooded skins!"
"They're demons!"
"Shoot, comrades, kill'em, to the last!"
I fired my arquebus at them.
Their bloody bodies fell dead to the ground.
With the fall of the bodies, we ran to them and did search 'em for jewellery.
As Cabral saw what happend he called for meeting of the captains.
The meeting was hold threw to complete night and on the next day Cabras came to the soldiers and told us:
"My men, see what has happend, demons entered our fort and we killed 'em.
But there must be more of them out on this crazy world and we must kill them and vanish them and destroy them!
The plan is that some of you search the deeper jungle for those bastards and loot their settlements!
We will vanish those satanic bastards!"
On the noon a little force was built and sent up.
We marched days and nights threw the dark forest, full of astonishing things and animals.
In the night of the third day a scout came back to the main forces screaming:
"Flee, my brothers, they're thousands! Their army fills up the horizont! Flee, as long as you can!"
Our Captain ordered us to get into a defensiv position on a hill.
My breath was heavy, as I heard the noise of the enemies army, no I did not hear, I did feel them, I did feel the quake of the earth, as they stamped.
I embraced my arquebus and layed it on.
"Fire, you dastards, fire!"
Our Arquebuses brought death to their rows, but that wouldn't stop them.
They came nearer, unstopable.
The enemies didn't stop charching, even when they were wounded.
In the last moment before charching, I could take a look at the eyes of one of the enemies, they were bright and full of fire.
Then, with the push of hundreds of warriors, bloody battle began:
My frontman was hit by a spear getting threw his heart and I pushed my sword into a enemy.
By now, every soldier in the field was insolved in battle.
And dead bodies were flatting the hill
And enemies warriors wearing skins of animals were entering the battle
Battles tide didn't seem to be on our site
While fighting of another enemy I shouted to my
comrade Pedro:
"Pedro! We are driven off! Let's flee out of this hell!"
Pedro turned to me and said, with a little smile on his face:
"You foolish dastard, don't you see? Reinforcments are coming!"
Flooted by new valour I once again got into the mud of fighting.
In this moment, the reinforcments reached battle
"See! Those cowards flee! Long live great Portugal!"
For now, we had won. For now...
