EUROPA SEMPER CAPUT MUNDI
Красивый язык. Это же суть старославянский. Интуитивно понятный, но чтобы глаголить на нём надо учить слова
Интересно на нём былины старые читать, летописи...
There is nothing more harmonious than chaos.
May I ask to add the English name of the language in the thread title?
Under the noble patronage of Jimkatalanos
Old Church Slavonic.
It's practically Old Bulgarian, evolved in a slightly different direction, but not by much.
Done
You have here some info on Wiki

i know that, but as far as i know cyril and methodius were sent by the ER emperor,to help slavs with their new religion.and from their language all slavic languages evolved, not just bulgarian.
old church slavonic was used as an official language in serbia until the end of the first half of 19. century.
this is Miroslavljevo Jevandjelje from 12. century i think.it the oldest preserved serbian document.
and this is a newspaper from 19. century

To help Slavs with creating a new alphabet. The Churches were set up separately, and the official church language was based on old bulgarian.
Interesting, I didn't know this!old church slavonic was used as an official language in serbia until the end of the first half of 19. century.
No it wasn't, the language was called Slavjanoserbski ( Slavoserbian ) and it was created in 17-18. century by mixing Serbian and Russian language, to be more precise by introducing Russian words and some aspects of grammar into Serbian language and had nothing to do with old church Slavonic. This strange process took place in the Serbian church in Habsburg empire ( mostly in present day Vojvodina ) due to fact that most of the ecclesiastical and ritual books were imported from Russia cause Austrians didn't allow Serbs to print church books in cyrilic letters, latter educated people and priests found this strange language to be more '' prestigious '' then coloquial or '' people's '' ( narodni ) language and pushed it in official use. Old church Slavonic language was in use in Mediaeval period, 'till 15-16 .century but only in local versions called redactions so the Serbs had Serbian redaction of church Slavonic, Bulgarians had Bulgarian redaction, and there was also Romanian and Russian redactions, each of them differing substantialy from another, actualy differing enough that they could be called Old Serbian, Old Bulgarian and Old Russian.old church slavonic was used as an official language in serbia until the end of the first half of 19. century.
