    Default How to use RTW settlement capture anim in MTW2?

    What I want to do is use the stratmap general's capture settlement anim from RTW (the one where the banner is slammed down onto the city). I have an unpacked anim pack from RTW, and the descr_skeleton.txt file has told me which .cas file I need.

    So I put it in the animations folder in MTW2's data folder, and I changed the descr_skeleton.txt file for the capture animation and put the new .cas file in there.

    When I run the game, though, it completely ignores any changes. I have my shortcut to go to files first and all that, but it doesn't care.

    Does anyone have suggestions for me?

    I am unaware if I am permitted to bump my own threads or not, but I presume that four months is a decent amount of time to wait before doing so, yes?

    Apparently to make the game read the modified files, you need to put this code in your config file:

    [util]
    no_animdb = true
    Team Member of Wrath of the Norsemen M2TW Mod (3D Modeller)
    Economic Left/Right: 8.75
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.74

    if that cfg command dosn't work, make sure you delete the pck and idx files (there's 4 of them) from the animation folder.

    The RTW animations need to be converted to M2TW format, because they add extra bones compared to RTW bones. I believe there's a tool for it in the Wiki on the .ORG forum. If you get that, you're pretty much set.
