    Default Pace of play?

I've kind of felt the pace of EB is alot slower then most other mods I've seen, far slower then vanilla. Due to the four turns per year, AI givvin more money, and the huge increase in buildings, and upkeep costs.

I've started my first campaign with the Casse, and I've got all of the British Isle, and haved moved on, taking 6 of the inland Gaul settlements, and noticed the game is at 240 BC.

I was just wondering, am I above or below the usual pace? I want get all the campaigns I start these days to AD, and its looking like if I keep it up, I will get my victory conditions, and more far before that...

I've gotten pretty far, but never actually -won- any campaign, ever, in RTW, mod or not. Never played a short campaign either, just lost interest or got a bad CTD right before reaching it.

When you meet your victory conditions, can you still continue, and if the AI happens to, (Sel, Bak, Egypt) can you continue then too?

Just wondering how I should proceed further in my campaign, and in future ones.

    Thanks!

the pace is what you make of it, there is no fasst or slow, but I do the following in my Roman campaign to make it interesting:

    1. NEVER Move/Fight in Winter unless attacked (spend whole winter in Cities/Camps)

    2. When invading, take a full stack army and go on a 5 year Campaign, (20 turns). Campaign is a success if enemy becames a protectorate or destoryed. otherwise, mark campaign as failure or indecisive.

    3. At the end of the campaign, send charactor/general back to a city, distribute/disband army, ther same character is not to be on campaign for at least 2 years.

    4. MAKE SURE PACIFICATION is finished and necessary building repaired before moving your army to the next city.

    Have fun

    Thanks for that.

What I ment for fast/slow was based on my goal, of getting my campaigns to AD, but it just came to me that maybe that isn't really neccisary or enjoyable depending on what faction you use.

I can't see me getting to Imperial Roman reforms with Casse without already meeting my victory conditions, and being this huge, unstoppable barbarian empire just sitting on Italys door-step, waiting to see their fancy new armor before killing them. =(

My next planned campaign is as Qarthadastim, trying to sim the Punic wars better, and I will make very sure not to make overly aggressive moves towards Rome untill atleast Marian reforms, so it can get a good fight out of them.. I hope they take some settlements in Greece, and Europe so they won't be weak by then! I'll take Ibera, and the rest of Africa in the mean time.

BTW, I always used BI with RTR to make for smarter strat map AI, is it worth going through it to do it in EB? Is it stable?
