    Yes lots of class work that I am having trouble trying to change. I tried to adjust start pos. of Takeda, Honda, Asai, Imagawa, and added Tokugawa-but its not working just shows regular start pos. on preview and campaign. I know you know a bunch about modding MTW and any help would be appreciated. This is text i edit for camp/startpos.smap_8.txt

    It's great that people are still playing this. It was one of the first mods I ever played and I had countless hours of enjoyment from it. I still would play it if I had my original MTW/VI CDs.

    Sounds like you somehow (unintentionally) screwed up the file-formatting, its easily done so don't feel bad about it. If that is the case, then there is really nothing I can do to save that file - its basically ruined/wasted... It will never show up then... Set up a fresh unedited SW-file for me and I can include/unlock the Tokugawa-clan for you. Once that is done you can play around with copies of that file as much as you want. Its probably the safest way to avoid the problem...

    Hello everyone following this mod, I have been busy making adjustments to it lately and would like to share them with you. This is a whole new campaign starting at 1543 and adds a lot of changes to battles as well.
    Heres the info on it:

    Samurai Warlords: Gekokujo Konkai Edition

    This will update your version of Samurai Warlords Beta 8 to
    an alternate kind of gameplay, one that will challenge the most
    experienced Total War players.

    The changes are as follows-

    Campaign:

    -Tokugawa(Matsudiara) Clan is now available, Tokugawa Ieyasu a
    key leader at this time must be used carefully to help his
    family survive.
    -Oda clan now has an alternate family called the Toyotomi.
    Nobunaga is also a new heir and can be used to fight from Owari.
    -Takeda Clan starts in their homeland of Kai, with more cavalry
    to use so they can survive longer. Several famous Takeda generals
    added. Shingen is available after 1 heir due to glitch.
    -The Hoganji Clan controls several new areas in central Japan.
    The influence of "The Pure Land" has created many Bhuddist followers.
    Their warrior monks now have zeal/religious bonuses on campaign
    map that cause more uprisings when provinces are lost.
    -All castles upgraded to fit the time of 1543.
    -All clans start with one Portugese matchlock unit.
    -Honda and Chosokabe colors have been changed to new alternate
    ones.
    -Castle sieges are longer due to more unit capacity.
    -New starting positions for most clans to fit the time period.
    -Super generals are not prsent at the begining anymore, some emerge later.
    -All advanced units get random rank stars when created.

    Battle:

    -most individual units now have different organization for looks.
    -All units speed is adjusted to change battle pace.
    -Naginata and Yari Samurai now have more armor-making them slower.
    -All archer units have longer range(yumi=longbow range)
    and mounted units more ammo. Samurai Archers have more men to even out
    battles against rebels, they now can fight in melee longer.
    -Larger unit sizes.
    -All morale, defense, and melee attack adjusted changed.
    -All battle maps corrected
    -All siege battles corrected and changed (thanks to Puzz3D's castle fix)

    Installation:
    Make sure you make backups of these folders in the
    MedievalTotalWar(Samurai Warlords) Folder,
    so if you want to revert back to original you can-
    BATTLE
    CAMPMAP
    LOC

    Also these files-
    STW_SP12_build_prod
    STW_SP12_unit_prod

    You can now download the addon.

    After this extract the new SamuraiWarlords folder to desktop
    then move files/foldrs inside to overwrite ones shown above.
    The LOC files are only translated to enlish for now.

    I am not an original team member.

    Hi,
    to get mongols into campaign we'll need a tech tree, with a few buildings and all the graphics that go along with that, they will have a starting province, and possibly a second appearing a few turns into the game, (via a pro-mongol rebellion in a neutral province)


    Mongols will be a different culture, requiring different buildings,


    i was thinking a basic ship landing (port) giving access to Mongol Horse Archers and 1 or 2 basic "conscript" troops (koreans/song),
    and allowing a stable and armorer allowing conscript horse and slighter tougher conscript troop types, (mongol foot troops at this level, or the next??)
    then a better port, and a "campaign" building allowing Mongol Heavy Cavalry, any remaining conscript forces,
    then a developed port, improved armorer, improved stable, improved campaign building and one or two other facilities allowing the Yuan troop types and some morale or honor improvements to previous types,
    last level would be high end stable, armorer and the like, further improving some troop type stats??


    not complicated, this is an invasion army, we are trying to replicate the "organizational" buildings needed to sort the freshly landed troops into cohesive units.

    Hi again not sure what happened with you Barocca but I was wondering if you or someone can give feedback on what should be added to my additions, I have not been to busy of late so I have time to edit the mod some more.

    Thought I had written this some time ago, but I guess the forum bugs ate it up. Anyway, I downloaded your submod, lord ahrens, and I've been having a fantastic (and fantastically tough) campaign as Tokugawa. You've done some great work polishing one of the best MTW mods out there! It's nice to be able to play the later sengoku period, as in the original Shogun. So far, I've played about two hundred turns and only had a handful of CTDs (nothing gamebreaking), and the sieges and battle maps have functioned perfectly! Thank you for this great work.And, barocca, I can't tell you how exciting it is to hear one of the original Shogun Warlords is still active! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

    Thanks for the nice words Cypian2, sorry a little busy of late to write back and tell you that-but I had some time to come on here today to post some updates for you and others still playing! I have completed some alternate portraits using the ones from the old Takeda game. The portraits are sharewhere from the Takeda game site for an old mod editor they had. They replace all Kings and Generals(Princes included), at random so there might be a few duplicates, nothing to serious. You should extract to desktop first, then cut, then paste file to...
    Samurai Warlords/campaignmap/Portraits/smap/samurai/replacing king+general folders containing old portraits.. . Make sure backups are made so you can revert the file if you dont like this. Here is the .zip to download, and some samples of what they look like. I will be completing more again in the future to add stuff when I can to the mod. Hope you like them!

    These example-portraits looks pretty good, Ahrens (I'm downloading 'em now)... As everyone else fails to do so, let me offer you some actual thanks for your processing and bothering to posting them here for others to enjoy. If that action don't count as rep-worthy, I don't know what will.... Essentially, have some rep on me for it....
