PlayStation 3 fastest selling console in the Uk

The ps3 sold 165.000 consoles in 2 days, the 360 sold 67.000 and the wii sold 105.000 consoles so much for the ps3 not selling any units

I knew it would blow up the market . Same thing over here in the UAE, sales are so huge that electronic hardware shops and other gaming shops get so filled up with people wanting the PS3. You can't even enter the shop .

I still stick by the PC as the best gaming platform - not had a console since a second hand Playstation....

well considering the fastest selling thing in the uk was 185,000 units ,id say 165,000 is pretty good.

i'm pretty surprised, considering that PS3 costs ridiculously more in Europe than it does in the US, it has no good games on it, it tries to shove a blu-ray player down your throat when all you want to do is play games, its launch was delayed in Europe, it has bad online, and European versions have horrible backward compatibility...i guess the brand is too strong and nothing can hold back its sales

i am also suprised by this. the console is stupidly priced, has no good games yet and is forecasted to dorp by like 200£ within a couple of months - why buy it now? :/

PS3 for life .I played my PS2 a lot more then my Xbox and I'm sure it will be the same with the ps3.So I'm not even going to touch the 360 and like Carach said PC > all

Well if you want to go into technicality , the ps3 is way more expensive than a Xbox360 and wii combined so technically they just made a Huge Cash Income as compared to Nintendo and Microsoft because they were smart.

and indeed the 185,000 units , ze highest sold yet , belong to the psp.

PS3 cost something around 600 €, right? I read somewhere that Sony makes like 100 or 200 € loss per sold console. So more console sold -> more loss As long as they don't release some good games, they can sell millions of ps3's and are just wasting their money

A third of that goes to retailers (sp?)
99 million x 2/3 = 66 million

Production costs for a PS3 is 400 $.
165.000 x 400$ = 66 million

66 million - 66 million = 0
