Will the mongols in BC have good stats? Or simply a lot of experience? Because, I think it would be fun to see the Mongols being able to conquer without immense numbers, in reality they were quite few. You can't make the AI use good tactics, so the only solution I see is to give the Mongols good stats, I just don't think they should simply have humongous armies.
All this assuming that you have altered their stats, which you have to in order for them to fit in with the combat system in BC.

Actually, Randarkmaan, as the Mongols advanced their armies tended to grow, as they pressed into service peoples from the lands they conquered, plus were not adverse to hiring mercenaries: Chinese and Arab artillerist, Korean soldiers, members of other Steep tribes, etc... The result would be a Horde that as it captured new territories, it would grow as their new "subjects" were "recruited" and more money was available to hire new mercenaries. A relatively small horde, with good stats would eventually grow to be a huge horde with a mix of a lot of poor to medium stats, with a few good stats (the Mongols themselves, and maybe a few elite merc units).
However, since BC isn't currently updating them, we'll have to see how they work in Kalos' mini-mod for BC.
BTW - Kalos, a question - Will your mini-mod make the Mongols playable?

Yeah, I know, but they'll have to change their stats. And I think that perhaps the Mongols should get stats bordering on "cheating" to make them able to perhaps win victories even when outnumbered. I would much prefer this to making them have insane numbers to start with. However, since BC isn't currently updating them, we'll have to see how they work in Kalos' mini-mod for BC.
Also anyway... has Kalos made new general/captain skins and/or models?

I think I like that idea Randarkmaan. Perhaps we'll modify the stats and also fill up some mongol armies with our new Kypchak units too. So that the core mongol warriors are insanely poweful - yet few.. almost 'cheating' but have more killable mercs among them.
Agreed
As for Kalos, while I will not speak for him, I know he has released ver. 1, (See post 225 - http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showp...&postcount=225 ) so I will presume the answer is yes. But best to let him answer officially.

It would require a bit more work (Another EDU entry), but I'd say the Mongols deserve the close bow. It'd level the playing field for them, I think
I'm new to the forums but anyways I've been watching this mod for awhile and it looks to be outstanding. Are the mongols going to emerge at the same time as vanilla, or a bit later to be more realistic, and give the users more time to set up?

I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

and BC brings in another.....
Hey, welcome to the forums. Thanks for the compliments.
Vanilla's map ends at Mesopotamia and hence the Mongols emerge at a different dates from ours (they reached Iraq later). Our map borders right on Khwarezm/Steppe so we get to see the mongols from the begining of their middle eastern stampede.
So to answer your question they Mongols emerge around 1220-ish. Since our mod starts in 1174 the players bordering that region have around 92 turns to prepare before the Mongols crash the party.
