    @JERUSALEM

Guess what faction I've had the privelage of having some awsome battles with today? Georgia. And guess what? They have some of the best heavy cav in the game. Monaspa Lancers, Eristavi, Tadzreuli, and a Heavy HA Monaspa. These guys are killers. Giving Georgia a cataphract unit is simply overkill. They have a very strong selection of heavy cav, they don't need anymore.

This is not the only faction like this. The Ghorid Sultanate and Ghazni will be the same too. No cataphract cav. They were specialists in heavy cavalry - but no horse armour. Same for the Georgians, Armenians and Rajputs. None of these faction have cataphracts - except for their generals.

And here's a little screen just for you and Tadzreuli

Georgian Monaspas and Tadzreuli cavalry put Turkish levies to flight

Scimitars were never really used by Arabs in this time period. The swords they wielded were more or less descendants of the Roman and persian swords. Those that were curved were the turkish saber. And there were a few specialized curved swords that might have been arabic, but the majority used straight.

Arabs actually used straight swords more often. The scimitar is a turkish and persian thing.

Not sure about the setting, I recently reinstalled M2TW .. but I'm pretty sure thats on pretty high settings.

Some more pics (sorry about the moorish banners!):

The Abbasids await the Byzantine advance.. Abna spears bolstered by a contingent of Nubian spearmen and poorly trained Levy archers.

Nubian Archers and Levy archers pepper the Byzantines with flaming arrows..

    Swords of the Prophet Muhammad:

They are far from a scimitar.

Yes they are far from scitmreirs but as you can see some of them are curved http://www.usna.edu/Users/humss/bwhe...ham_title1.jpg

I remember going to a muesim and saw lots of curved blades which they rarely used straight swords , anyway its up to you to include them or not

    peace

That battle was in the Khyber pass (the main mountain pass gateway to India). It will be a custom battle locale along with many other scenic and strategic points.

I'll try to get screenies of a battle in India.. but I did those today cuz I was taking a break and now I'm back to the books - besides I'm not really on my M2TW comp anyways... so you'll have to wait.

Hey Mirage, did the axe swings for the Dismounted Faris look good? The axe is beautiful, but looking at them, their hands look a little too close to the blade.

Didn't notice any problems. They were swinging and moving just normal. Its also one-handed so that might reduce problems.

Terrific news. I just thought the axe swings might look a bit close, if that makes sense. No worries then.

i think the same about Georgians. they really don't need no cataphract at all

and georgian warriors i think are very good equipied so no problems with them just great job is done for their sake

as for cataphract's u can balans the power between muslims and christians adding them to kingdom of Jerusalem, but byzantium as u said already has them in next stage of the game so no problem with it
Through your intercession I hope to see the light of Thy son and the light of everlasting ages !
