Wouldn't it be better to call them Cumans? The Cumans and Kypchaks are the same, but Cuman is... wider used, and easier to spell and pronounce.

I'm gonna use "Kypchak" instead of "Cuman". Since this is an eastern focused mod and "Kypchak" is simply the eastern name for the essentially the same people.
I'm changing the name to "The Kypchaks". The "confederacy" thing sounded a bit dorky.
And thanks for the flag info Qarama, a falcon seems perfect for a horde faction. Hopefully they'll cause some ruckus by migrating about.
Yeah i was thinking the same thing about Easternn-centric.........
also, Kypchak sounds way cooler.
cheers

Id love to see them with some masks ala Tsars Guard.
They make units look extra scary, they look like emotionless killing machines.
Personally I think that if we do a decent enough job on them they will be fun to play. I would love to send my horsemen down south to rape the georgians, pillage the seljuks and smash the abbasids and burst into the holy land and crash the crusader/muslim party.
This unit is definitely in. The rest of the roster hasnt been decided, but it'll be almost entirely HA based, with very, very little inf.
Are the Kypchaks next then Alpha?
Ghorids and Ghazni are next. They should be considerably faster than the Khwarezm Shah, since they main cav will basically be Strelacs Ghulams and many of Ghazni units are done already.
EDIT: sorry didn't realize you were asking AD :/
Just dumping this here as a possible faction symbol:
The Nogais, also spelled Nogay, Noghai, and often called the Caucasian Mongols ("Caucasian" refers to their geographic position, in the Caucasus mountains, not to their ethnicity), are a Turkic people, and an important ethnic group in the Daghestan region who speak the Turkic Nogai language. The Nogai are descendants of Kipchaks who mingled with their Mongol conquerors and formed the Nogai Horde (see that article for their khanate's history).
The Ghorids have excellent attack infantry combined with a strong force of discplined ghulam heavy cavalry. What they lack are defensive options like good spears. So if you like holding a batte line and waiting for the enemy to come to you... don't play the ghorids.

Sounds good, I love to charge into their lines and give em hell.
Bump as these guys are next. We'd like to give them some work, but it should not be a lot as unless we add the Kievian Rus in the future, the north-east is going to be a little bland, and it's better to work on a faction like the Zengids, egypt or the KoJ instead of the Kypchaks.
That being said, the unit concepts are on the front page, are frequently updated, and are free to critique or offer suggestions. It's a WIP, so it's not finished just yet.
Yes i was hoping these guys or Zengids would be next

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.
