Yeah, the emergent faction thing is something with great potential. But I need to learn more about it. It depends on how versatile the conditions of faction emergence is. If it allows me to script emergences based on actual game events (ie certain faction destroyed, certain city taken by certain faction etc) then I will seek to implement such things and thus many other faction.

Okay, I was just doing some regions in the Caucusus. All you Georgians/Armenians tell me if this all is okay for region, historically and all.

    Sokhumi, Georgian coastal city

The ancient Armenian city of Ani and the Georgian city of Kutaisi

    Tbilisi, Georgian capital

The Azeri cities of Baku and Ganja

Armenian lands of Yervan and Lake Van

Erzurum and Trabzan - Byzantine territories (a typo in one of the files caused the mispelling of Erzurum on the map here, will be fixed)

Like i've said already the scope of this mod is very well defined at this point for the first version anyways. The main spirit behind this mod is not to include too many minor factions.

If you can obtain skins I would be very happy to incorporate those units as mercenaries and rebels in Africa and south Arabia, but the "nahillio caliphate" is far too obscure and historically questionable of a faction to include (i can't find any info on them or the 'empire of aden'). So I probably won't consider including any such new faction for the first cycle. It's all about priorities now.

I was at first going to suggest replacing Yerevan with Dvin, but then I checked and realized Dvin was erased from importance by the mongols around 1230.

Erevan is certainly suitable, as the various powers who occupied the city all maintained a mint there, although around 1600 AD thousands of armenians were deported to persia from there leaving the city with only 20 percent armenians.

I would be tempted to rename Erzerum "Karin", but since the region was generally Turkish dominated I am reluctant to say it should be.

It's late...will have maybe other suggestions at a later time.

(whoops. Erevan and Yerevan are the same thing. Both are technically right. I have a habit of typing Erevan however. Erivan is another name but it is not properly transliterated armenian)

It doesn't seem to be loading for me but that's just TWC.

For some reason the first page refuses to load.

Basically, it's a method of giving armor and attack scores to units thats rather extensive (I think he had a sort of formula for it) and with the mod, you see a real division in your units. No longer can spearmen drop knights as fast as a two handed axe/halberd unit. Armor piercing or slower weapons have a real use.

Okay, I will include Tarus and Sis. Do you have any idea why the vanilla version included Adana instead of Tarsus?
Possibly a city vs castle decision.

The map is looking better and better.

Here is my proposed unit roster for Armenia and Jerusalem. Jerusalems roster will be recruitable by Armenia through high tier buildings later in the campaign.

    Armenian - Colour scheme brown/gold/red
    ---------

Caucasian Mountaineers (spear + rect shield)

Caucasian Mountaineer archers (bow + shield on back)

Armenian Border spearmen (spear + rect shield)

Armenian Border axemen (axe + round shield)

Armenian Infantry (sword + heater + medium armour)

Armenian Spearmen (spear + kite + medium armour)

    Armenian archers (bow)

    Didebuls (Early)

    Naxarar (Early)

    Heavy Armenian cavalary

    Jerusalem/Crusader - Colour scheme white/red/black
    ------------------

    Latin Auxilia spearmen

    Latin Auxilia armoured spearmen

    Latin Auxilia swordsmen

    Latin Auxilia armoured swordsmen

    Latin Auxilia Crossbowmen

    Templar Knights

    Teutonic Knights

    Hospitalier Knights

Hadn't noticed your work on this before now mirage, but I have to say, I'm pretty damn impressed! Looks like you've not only opted to implement a crucially overlooked region, but the progress so far is looking impressive indeed! Well done

    Hey AlphaDelta,

As usual the skins are looking amazing. And the factions units rosters for Jerusalem and Armenia gets my thumbs up. However could you add "Turkopoles" to the Jerusalem roster, they were basically Christianized Turks serving the Crusaders - horse archer units, definitely more expensive for Jerusalem.

I surpised how fast you can finish some pretty good quality skins, I would be pretty slow at the most basic skin changes! Good work!

I think that at this time, Trabzon was known as Trebizond.

Adana was Ancient Cilicia's capital, at the time of the Persians. I guess thay didn't do much research after that.:hmmm:

Good point, I was looking that off a modern map. So Trebizond is what, say, a greek person would have pronounced it at this time? It will be under Byz control, so I will change the name duly.

    @Tadzrueli

Thanks for the new map. I don't think I will add all those cities, well not Artanuju anyways. It will conlflict with some other existing cities and I don't want that many provinces for now. I've already added "Derbent" (Daruband).

ok, this is new map, as u request:

I just united Artanuji and Imereti region in my old map and rename Tskhumi as Nicophsia ( Jiqeti region capital city).

now for Kingdom of Georgia we have 3 native Georgian and 2 armenian region for the mod:

    1. Egrisi - Kutatisi
    2. Kartli -Tbilisi (Capital of Georgia)
    3. Jiqeti - Nicophsia.

    + not Georgian native lands:

    4. Dvin
    5. Ani

in 1175 ad Armenian citys Dvin and Ani also were included in Georgian crown lands.
