Loyalty?

I'm playing as Egypt and for some reason my generals get dramatically more disloyal every turn. I do all the things to make them happy (banquets ect) and yet they still manage to get displeased with me. In two turns they lost all their loyalty points. Is this intentional?

Never mind i reloaded the game and it when back to normal. Odd though. Also I've noticed that sometimes the price on merchant goods in foreign countries goes ridiculously high for a couple of turns and goes to normal as soon as i get a merchant in the area. Ex cotton goes from 30 to 280 in one turn. No one has a monopoly or is even trading stuff.
