Russian Textures
As I am new to the Total War world and modding...hell computer gaming period...lol. But I've been working on textures for a fantasy mod and with the Russian heavy infantry and cavalry it seems they all wear the same outfit from the texture file....I've modded all three of the different armors if you will but they only wear one. Anyone knows why that is? I've modded some mercenary skins just to see if I was doing anything wrong but they wore different outfits. I'll post a screen in a bit to let ya'll see what I mean. :hmmm:

Re: Russian Textures
Units use only one body, with it only one texture. That is all to it.
And if You want to know why is that, direct Your question in CA's way... But don't expect an answer.

Re: Russian Textures
He's saying he has one texture file with
three different body skin sections or slots.
There's a great example in this thread
http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showth...t=75726&page=2
Look at post 40 by Vlad 1. It shows 6 body sections
and the screenie below shows the unit with variety.
@bdotward
I don't know why either. Could you post a screenie
of your actual .texture file in Photoshop. Maybe someone
can look at it and spot something.

Re: Russian Textures
I am saying: Russian units with heavy lammelar armor (boyar sons, dvor, tsars guard, bardiche axemen) are using one body that has no variations. Meaning: One body=one texture, every body model in .mesh files (on the same unit/soldier) uses different texture coordinates, and by randomisation You get variations of body textures. In this particular case there is ONLY ONE BODY!!! I retextured russian units so I know. And yes, I know there are three bodies in the .texture file, with no effect, 'cause, as I said before, there is only one body in the .mesh model....

Re: Russian Textures
yea, i figured they were only using one body as opposed to others using 3 - 6 other variations....don't know if they meant it to be that way or not, but i'll find a work around.
thanks guys
