Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
It won't crash the game, but it may give existing characters blank names, the next generation though will have good names. But I wouldn't recommend it.
But the expanded.txt and expanded.txt.strings will work fine with a save game, and will give you proper titles.

Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
I've tried America's, Britannia and Teutonic so far. I haven't noticed any problems with blank names.
However, I think I saw that the character Hernan Cortes had a different name in my Spanish campaign. But I am not sure about this, I need to check.
One thing I have noticed is that some names are too long and get truncated in the screens. This happens especially with the Scottish names. It's not really a problem, just a game limitation.

Cortes is there I'm sure, starts near Vera Cruz.
Can't help the problem with Gaelic and Arabic names I'm afraid, as you said, game limitations.

Found a problem with the Britannia files:
None of the names for the Barons' Alliance show up in my game. Can anyone confirm it's not just me?

Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
Oddly. Once I did the Britannia one my UI disappeared on the campaign map. And there are blocks.

Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
That's a game problem, as discussed in the Kingdoms forum, nothing to do with CNP I think.
I told people I would be working on fixing up CNP for a final release, but I have been very busy over the last week, hopefully next week I can do it.

Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
The original names.txt uses underscores (_) between the {} however some of the entries in your Britannia campaign download use hyphens (-), does this cause any problems?
The original descr_names.txt does not use underscores (_) anywhere however your Britannia campaign download descr_names.txt has underscores for all the spaces between the names. Does this will mean we will have _ in the name in game or does it read the actual name from the second half of the names.txt (which doesn't have the _ or -)?

Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
If in the names.txt file, you see:
{O_Neill}Ó Neill
In the game, you will see Ó Neill. Using underscores creates much less problems.

Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
finneys13,
I have started a new Britannia campaign, this time without other mods installed and again I am getting a problem with blank names for the Barons' Alliance. The other factions appear to work OK.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Re: ★ Kingdoms - Character Names Project Releases
Actually I did, and I don't really know why it happens. Will fix it whenever I release the final CNP, it is not a game breaker I hope.
