In this thread I'll post the preview of the units which will fill the rosters of about every faction. As it will be a long work this is useful to get some feedback and advices, and give infos to the good people who follows this mod

FYRDMEN - Faction: House of Normandy-Anjou- Era: 1080-1250



In Saxon times, defenses were based upon the fyrd. It was a militia of all able-bodied men that was called up from the districts threatened with attack. Service in the fyrd was usually of short duration and the participants were obliged to provide their own arms and provisions. In the early times of Norman rule the new Lords still used the fyrd system to gather peasant troops to reinforce their armies.

SAXON ARCHERS - Faction: House of Normandy-Anjou- Era: 1080-1250



Saxon Archers are accustomed to using their bow for hunting. These peasant archers are armed with a small bow, knife, and if lucky enough, some armour. Life at the bottom of medieval society is neither easy or healthy, these units have either been levied into an army, by the sword if necessary, or have been forced to defend their pitiful holdings.

NORMAN SPEARMEN - Faction: House of Normandy-Anjou- Era: 1080-1250



Norman Spearmen are common folk from villages and towns that have been levied into the army. Armed with long spears and shields these troops are useful at defending flanks, but won't stand up in any prolonged melee.

SERJEANTS A' CHEVAL - Faction: House of Normandy-Anjou- Era: 1080-1250



Serjeants à Cheval are the lesser armed cavalry that ride in support of the knights. They comprise squires, rich commoners, or lesser nobility that cannot afford the expensive armour of a real knight. Although they cannot compare to real knights in battle, with their spears and swords they can perform valuable service against lighter enemies.
